I’ve got a nonbinary friend who presents somewhat feminine, and they always say that anyone who finds them attractive is gay by default. So I guess what I’m saying is I’m not totally straight

Wouldn’t finding an nb person attractive be hetero attraction? Since they’re of a different gender?

I guess it depends how you define it, i feel like most people define hetero as being exclusively attracted to people of the opposite sex than you

They’re using the (Greek-derived) scientific definition of “hetero” (i.e. different) vs “homo” (i.e. same). By those definitions, any cisgender + non-binary pairing would technically be heterosexual.

Yeah I define myself as heterosexual cos I’m not attracted to people of the same gender as me. I’m not non-binary so being attracted to/sleeping with an enby person is not gay, at least according to how I define my own sexuality.

I’m a gay guy so I’ll answer this from that perspective: moreso men? I’m attracted to guys along with the occasional non-binary person or very butch lesbian (i.e. my attraction to them felt identical to how I’m attracted to men). Sometimes I’m attracted to a masc guy, sometimes it’s a fem guy. Sometimes it’s neither. I’ve been into every body type except bears (though including cubs).

Basically: if my social perception of you is that of a man despite your own gender identity, then I might be attracted to you. I apologize if my horniness assumes your gender

My ex really loved that song and thought it was so deep. She’d say shit like “I just love how he doesn’t have a type you know? Like if your bad it doesn’t matter” but I was just confused because a bad bitch is a type. And it wasn’t her.

        pre-transition? Sure

        I don’t like dicks though

And it would probably be difficult with me going “I love your boobs” and they’re always like “I hate my boobs”

That’s how it works for the vast majority of people.

Not like personality doesn’t play a role. But certain body part combinations are a requirement.

Is their preference really any more arbitrary than the preferences sapiosexuals or demisexuals have? It sounds like they probably have other traits that may make someone more or less attractive, they just have a minimum requirement for a certain body form for them to begin having attraction. That isn’t so different when compared to a sapiosexual who requires a high intellect before they can begin being more or less attracted based on other traits.

TL;DR: All preferences are weird, no need to call anyone out on their specific ones :)
