Summary
Jake Paul defeated 58-year-old Mike Tyson in an eight-round boxing match, with unanimous scores of 79-73 and 80-72.
The bout, widely criticized as a “stunted show,” highlighted Tyson’s physical decline, including issues with sciatica, a stomach ulcer, and knee problems.
Tyson, once a feared heavyweight champion, struggled to compete, while Paul’s performance lacked effort and authenticity.
Fans, initially supportive of Tyson, grew disenchanted, booing by the final rounds.
Tyson dismissed the fight’s significance beforehand, rejecting the concept of legacy as meaningless. The event was seen as a cynical, contrived spectacle.

The only person who lacks dignity here is the guy challenging someone twice his age to a boxing match.
Nah they probably sat together and said… we can make bank… let’s do this and give people a good show… And then they did the whole shebang and gave people a nice performance that cost next to nothing to produce and pocketed the rest. Pretty clever.
Jake Paul knows some people pay to see Tyson beat the anot out of him, others hate watch him and he has fans apparently.
It’s not clever at all. It’s blatantly transparent and only a moron would watch it.
There are quite a lot of us morons in the world. So many, in fact, that Netflix struggled to stream it to all of us. Clever or not, everyone involved got what they wanted.
Yeah, morons are endless.
Or people that don’t know any of the drama and just wanted to see Tyson do something one last time. The uninformed do thoughtless shit all the time.
It definitely helped that it was on Netflix. That was the difference, at least for me. There is absolutely no way in hell I would’ve paid for a PPV of that, but given that my wife already has Netflix, it was more of an “eh, why not” type of thing.
Taylor vs Serrano was 100% worth it, that was rad.
I dunno mate, reading all these comments instead of doing literally anything else is starting to make me question my own dignity…
The match was close despite the age difference and also the difference in the level of class both before and after the fight was staggering.
Jake Paul made a fool of himself.
I don’t know if you watch boxing regularly or not, but that match wasn’t close. Tyson won the first 2 rounds because he had enough energy to land a couple of good shots due to experience, but when he ran out of steam Jake just toyed with him until it went 8. Jake could have absolutely gotten a few knockdowns, but chose not to.
I say that having absolutely zero respect for the Paul brothers. They’re both class A douchebags. Logan more than Paul in my opinion because of the suicide forest incident, but Jake won this fight unanimously and relatively easily.
The suicide forest didn’t bother me as much as half the other shit Logan did… I think what did it for me was buying a Gameboy Color for a street vendor, smashing it on camera, and then yelled at the vendor to get his money back in broken spanish because it was “Mucho Brokeno” as he put it…
If by close you mean Mike just stood there like someone unplugged Player 2’s controller while he wasn’t look, yeah…
Are you talking about that guy that is almost as well known for biting off Hollyfield’s ear as he is for his boxing prowess losing dignity from making 20 millions dollars playing the sport that he loves regardless of the effort?
Talking about dignity when it’s a sport where adult men punching each other in the face for entertainment
Also historically one of the most flagrantly corrupt sports in the world, up next to FIFA
How will kids be able to look up to Mike Tyson after this??
Tyson can punch me up for 16 minutes straight, take whatever of my dignity he wants for himself, and I’d be cool with even 10 million.
The world isn’t going to shit because people are willing to entertain others for serious money.
I’ll take a million and he can bite the tip of my ear off too.
My coworkers and I were discussing before the fight how much it would take to get us in the ring with Tyson. $100k seemed to be the consensus. After seeing that fight, I’d do it for $1,000.
How much did you lose?
I’m sure he’s weeping into his silk sheets right now from the indignity of the whole affair. Poor baby.
I’m not the OP, and I don’t much care about money so long as I have enough to be relatively comfortable, but I also don’t really feel as if I understand the concept of dignity. Why is it meaningful?
Sets an example for others, especially the younger generation. Reinforces that living up to a principle can benefit everyone. Puts ethics above selfishness, greed, hate.
Humans change their behavior based on what they see other humans doing. A person seeing most people or people of influence acting primarily in self-interest makes them that person more likely to do the same.
And, no, Libertarians, everyone acting in self-interest does not lead to better outcomes. That’s a childless myth.
Yeah the most upsetting part is that a soulless cash grab between a historically great athlete that could’ve not gotten involved and a hack influencer with a strong following of youths happened at all. It’s teaching young minds that money means everything and tricks them into thinking any part of this fight was fair or real. It makes boxing look bad, especially after watching a very legitimate and hard fought match minutes earlier. Jake needs to fight someone who’s a real competitor. No more retirees, basketball players, etc. If this was two old guys boxing then it would have felt very different to me. The match sucked and the viewer was the biggest loser throughout all of it.
How else do you think Tyson could make 20 million?
By selling his Dignity™ brand scented ball powder.
Your comment inspired me to buy ball powder, thanks friend
He’s not losing money via his cannabis business.
