Hey, well done on really good starts to those communities! :)
Now this is a conspiracy I can get behind.
I thought I was unique, I was the one. It was true love, man. To find out about this betrayal, breaks my heart.
Ooh they’ve updated the friendica url - new urls to add to the block list!
Hey, I’m totally open to feedback on the process too, so if you do sign up I’d be interested to know if you think it helped.
I use Zippy to refer to our modbot that does all of the hard work keeping an eye on the website :)
There’s lots of good instances, but I’m trying to help steer the new user experience based on feedback in the hope it helps more people stick around!
Hey!
For the Photon front-end, you should be able to turn on blurring in the user settings for NSFW marked content. It should use the same settings you have in your account for this, but it sounds like they haven pulled through. Can’t say I’ve experienced the lagging on scrolling either, i too use firefox on android but can’t replicate it. It’s good that Tesseract works though (it’s based on photon but with loads of extra features).
In terms of NSFW visibility, there isn’t an ideal solution at the moment. We did try tidying this up a while ago, but it ended up breaking some functionality due to how it works. I have actually recently logged this with the Lemmy devs: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/5468
Ideally we’d like to hide the communities from the /all feed but still allow people to search for and interact with them if they want. At the moment we can only suggest blocking the individual communities you don’t want to see as this will hide them from your feed, or make sure to subscribe to the communities you do want to see and stick to /subscribed :)
I figure they’re just jealous they didn’t get a PM from Nicole
I’d love to say it was in a state to share. The code is on github but its not plug and play for other instances, although I did start that a while ago. If I get chance to make it plug and play I’d be happy to let you know and get a link up.
And thank you 😊 I’m very excited. I feel like a dad tips community is next on the agenda!
Hey, you can use our tesseract front end (t.lemmy.zip) and it has keyword filtering built in :)
Can’t be done in the default UI unfortunately without using third party tools
Thank you ❤️
Thanks, yes being able to help people tailor their experience in the easiest way possible is the goal 😊
Very glad you’re here, despite the barrier (and the apparent move to Europe 😉)
And thank you, very kind 😊
Thank you! I’m already mighty apprehensive about the lack of sleep 😅
Thanks, that’s very kind and I’m glad you’re happy here :)

I make no apologies.
It’s a valid point - I’ll mull over it. I’m not sure ofcom are going to download an app, but I guess we’ll have to see what they actually do end up enforcing. As long as it doesn’t break federation, then it’s a simple removal of allowing api access to the uk users which would stop apps.
All done in nginx with geoip2. This should mean federation traffic is still allowed. The side effect of hiw I’ve implemented it is that apps are allowed too.
That’s neat, nice find!
