Ruled by oligarchs -----> ruled by oligarchs
Ruled by oligarchs -----> ruled by oligarchs
Disappointing. RCV is how we can try to break free of the two parties.
Remember when people got mad at you for calling him Genocide Joe?
Pretty much. Most candidates from both parties are bought by AIPAC as well as other lobbies. We have an oligarchy.
I am a papirus man
People vote for single issues all the time. Sometimes its abortions, the economy, etc. But God forbid people seem disgusted at rewarding genocide and voting for harris. People saw no other option other than to either punish them by voting for the other, 3rd party or not voting at all. I dont blame them.
I do vote in my local elections. I think the problem is actually too much money in politics. The oligarchs support and donate an infinite amount of money to campaigns. That leaves genuine candidates with nothing and little exposure.
I think we should severely limit how much they can donate to campaigns as well as having ranked choice voting, which can help people vote for candidates they like without “throwing” their vote away.
However, the democrats didn’t put up kamala against others in a primary for us to vote for. She was simply selected. Moreover, the last time Bernie ran, the democratic party basically sabotaged him. There are deep issues that we need to solve.
The article doesn’t mention any issues related to policy, which made a lot of people not vote for the democrats.
What he did do was miniscule. The only good thing that I can think of is some of the student loan forgiveness.
You should already be hopeless considering the current administration is aiding genocide.
Then you should be fair and judge harris in a similar way. For supporting and being a part of genocide.
Definitely boring dystopia material
Didn’t say it did.
The real question is how do you end up in a situation with two terrible candidates that will be happy to commit genocide with no consequences. It’s a mutlistep issue.
One is occupied, in an open air prison, being bombed, no food, no water and no one to aid them. The other may have some of their rights taken. Don’t compare the two.
Professional career politician that supports israel and genocide*
And I am a prince from Nigeria who will give you money if you send me your information
I didn’t say anything about not voting. I think people should vote in a strategic way however. And that means at times you need to vote on the other side or back a different politician.
I do agree that voting in primaries is important. I think there are also things that we can do to help move away from this corrupt system. For example, having ranked choice voting.
I do think that a big problem is that people aren’t willing to sacrifice some comfort in the short term for long term gain. If voting temporarily for red because blue isn’t listening to you or being corrupt then when they lose they’ll learn to listen to you next time. If not them, then someone else. People don’t do this and will vote red or blue no matter what which results in shit politicians.
I hope this becomes a thing so we can have more competition
