well at least you wash your hands
Fox host says he ‘hasn’t washed hands in 10 years’
Many Americans don’t always wash their hands after going to the bathroom
led by British media personality Andrew Doyle
The course’s reading list includes Doyle’s own books
So this is just state-sanctioned propaganda from some random guy
Maybe they should pay the crazy dude in the street corner who’s shouting about the end of the world to give a course as well
I wonder if Doyle is even going to give an actual definition of the term ‘woke’
Eugh. Raw face is just gross.
He’s also just explicitly said that he wants to be a dictator, but that apparently isn’t a turn-off for much of his base, and in fact many of them see it as a positive: https://apnews.com/article/trump-hannity-dictator-authoritarian-presidential-election-f27e7e9d7c13fabbe3ae7dd7f1235c72
I always round up the price when I see $X.99 but my grandmother always rounds it down and it pisses me off
They’re trying to fool you! Don’t be a sheep!!!
I was actually wondering how the gender gap changed in this election, and it wasn’t at all what I was expecting:
According to exit polls by CNN Trump gained +2% of the male vote, and +5% of the female vote compared to 2020 - though women were still more likely to support Harris, of course.
An analysis by the AP found similar results, with the support from men under 45 increasing +7%, and women under 45 +6%, while for older men it decreased -1%, and for older women stayed the same.
Surprisingly, Trump’s support among racial minority groups increased while white and older Americans increased support for Harris.
After thorough analysis and much thought I have ultimately concluded that I have absolutely no fucking clue what is going on with American politics.
There’s also the problem that if the polls are crap, the results of the model will also be crap, regardless of how accurate the model is. It’s similar to how publication bias affects meta-analyses. Several analysts have already argued that pollsters are unlikely to underestimate Trump again, and may in fact over-correct and underestimate Harris much like how they underestimated dems in 2022:
Honestly I’m not surprised considering California politicians seem to have a knack for making money disappear into thin air with magic (corruption): https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/gavin-newsom-homeless-money-budget-b2544347.html
Started my psychology course this year and to be perfectly honest the more I hear about psychoanalysis the more it just sounds like a bunch of bullshit made up by some horny guy who was full of himself
Despite what the law might say, there’s no evidence whatsoever that letting trans people use their preferred bathroom causes any “injury or harm” to cis people.
To the contrary, there is evidence that restricting bathroom access is harmful to trans people - and cis people too, like Jay, a cis woman who was harassed in a bathroom after being mistaken for a trans person.
Even if they use the “right” restroom trans people are in danger of being harassed all the same if they pass too well: https://www.advocate.com/news/2022/7/12/trans-man-brutally-assaulted-using-womens-restroom-campground
Damned if you do, and damned if you don’t. The point of laws like this isn’t to protect cis women and girls, it’s just to cause as much suffering as possible, because that’s all Republicans care about.
Trump has been sabotaging peace talks
This is pure horseshit.
Trump, Netanyahu speak about Gaza hostage-ceasefire deal, Axios reports
Trump says he told Netanyahu to end Gaza war but criticizes ceasefire call
Trump signals support in call with Netanyahu: ‘Do what you have to do’
It’s the Palestinian American’s fault for not endorsing the genocide of their immediate friends and family.
Voting isn’t a love letter, it’s a chess move. Biden, Harris and other establishment liberals absolutely deserve to be relentlessly mocked and criticized (and frankly indicted) for cheerleading Israel’s genocide, but aiding in the political victory of someone twice as genocidal as them, and who also intends to end democracy and target his political opponents would be a bad move.
I would like to propose some changes to that title:
Microsoft CEO’s pay rises 63% to $79m,
despite[because of] devastating year for layoffs: 2550jobs lost[employees were fired by their greedy CEO] in 2024 [because he wanted more money]
Something tells me that Tim “the problem is everybody else” Pool might have a hard time finding a woman willing to put up with his narcissistic and toxic personality…
Conservatives have already said that they want to inspect children’s genitals, so it’s only a matter of time until they start saying that they want to regularly inspect women’s genitals as well to “protect unborn children” (read: control women and fulfill their sick fetish)
Just don’t ask them what they were doing between 1933 and 1945
It was pretty popular and cool on Reddit. Hoping it gets some more love here too.
I second the Nerts recommendation because when I was a teen I played Ligretto (Basically just a branded Nerts) at one party and we all had a blast. To this day I wish I had the opportunity to play it again, but I’m not a party guy nor do I have that many decks of cards so /shrug
It’s kind of wild to me how many really small towns there are in the US. About 32% of towns in the U.S. have less than 500 residents.
For comparison, here in Brazil I lived most of my life in a town with ~35K residents and it was already considered a small rural town. Some of my family lives in a neighboring town with ~11K residents, and even in my hometown people joke about how small it is, and that there’s basically nothing going on there. 1288 of towns in Brazil have less than 5K residents, or about 23.1%, and there are no towns with less than 500 residents. Meanwhile in the US 76% of towns have less than 5K residents.
Again, it’s just kind of wild to me. I remember playing (reading?) the Echo VN and thinking “Man, a dying town with only 50 people? That doesn’t sound realistic,” but apparently that’s way more common than I thought.
