Rolling stone? That’s disappointing. Yeah I’ve seen similar shit in the media. But I’m thinking if it acts like a nazi and looks like a nazi it is probably a fuckin nazi. it’s pretty fuckin alarming, a lot of people died getting rid of them last time they gained power.
I didn’t think I was still capable of being shocked but the nazi salute at the president’s podium did actually shock me a little. They fuckers are not even trying to pretend any more. I would hope that this shit makes people avoid musk-related products like they’re a rabid rottweiler. I kinda feel bad for people who bought a Tesla years ago though. Also, spaceX has to be a national security issue now.
My issue is power consumption. Where I live, I rely on solar panels and batteries, and the steam deck is less power hungry than a laptop with graphics card.

We’re using mobile hotspots, that’s our only internet access. We can both connect to the same one though.

Thanks for the detailed response. Yeah, I’d thought the LAN thing would be tricky - the issue is that where we live, we have to rely on mobile hotspots for internet connectivity and the speed isn’t the best. It’s usable, I think we were just hoping to find a more effective workaround! And thanks for the suggestions too, I’ll check em out.

I had a twenty year break from gaming and I’ve been trying to catch up since I got the steam deck but I remain pretty crap. I’m playing doom on little bitch mode and still finding it a challenge. I’m about half way through, I don’t get a lot of gaming time.
I keep starting other games but not getting into them. But I think I’m gonna give dishonoured a try too.
Steam deck is probably the best machine I’ve bought in years.
They provide an easy platform for me to buy games so I use them. The steam deck too. Just because they have a competent product, i don’t think that justifies any arse kissing. Like you say, they’re a company and they’re in business to make money.
Yeah, I can see why developers would be unhappy about the 30%. Maybe there’s an argument to be made that the platform gives these games a greater potential market but I don’t know enough about the business to try making that argument.
Yeah, I was shopping for lithium on phosphatase leisure batteries maybe two years ago and was looking at spending over £1000 per battery. Now those batteries are not much over £100 and prices still seem to be falling.
I am in a similar situation, I get home tired from work and don’t have much time to myself, I can pick up my steam deck for half an hour or so but not long enough to get very involved with something. I’ve been playing doom 2016, you don’t have to commit much time to it at once. I’m pretty shit at it though.
Don’t you just have to make time go backwards?
Hmm I’m not sure I like the idea of tilting the device - with the steam deck you’re tilting the screen too. Doesn’t that impact your view of the screen?
But I’m definitely gonna try your trackpad suggestion. Thanks, I’ll see how it goes. Do you use it in hectic situations - like doom etc? Or is it better for sniping and stuff where you have time to aim?

Need more time for practise but work long hours, ho hum. Hopefully I’ll find time to try all of the above. Recently finished bioshock original and loved it.

I played silent hill and silent hill 2 long ago on a PS2, really enjoyed them and I’m up for giving this a go. Did you mention in another post that you’re playing it on a steam deck? I would be doing the same, how’s it going? Steam says it’s unsupported.
I got a steam deck last spring, before that I’ve not done any gaming since I had a PS2 so I’ve got a good twenty years of games to catch up on. It’s a bit frustrating how crap I am at gaming, particularly with shooters. I’m trying some different things to try and figure out what I’m into. I recently finished bioshock, so I just bought bioshock infinite. Also alien isolation, Alan wake, resident evil, and Uncharted legacy of thieves collection. I don’t get a lot of screen time but I’ll find time to try em out and see what grabs me.
I’ve got autism and I’m not doing sieg heil even when I want to stop a taxi. Let alone on the main fuckin stage of the US with the world watching. Fuckin nazis back in power.
