It was probably part of a cost cutting plan too show they were trimming costs in order to get more funding from investors. It clearly didn’t work.

“Trump surrounds himself with Yes Men who constantly just kiss his ass… Is that why you two get along so well?”
Or on a more realistic note I’d ask him about climate change and try to understand what twisted logic he’s using to justify his actions.
It’ a meme in the same way that anti-vax is a meme.
The original Iraq war coverage back in the 90’s was all about glorifying the military industrial complex. Videos of smart bombs finding targets from 20,000 ft. Clean and neat. THAT’S glorifying out military and sanitizing our wars.
A protest has to have teeth. If the teeth are economic, then that’s ok. If the teeth is violence, then that can be ok. Martin Luther King was successful in part because the threat of violence of Malcom X.
Protests do nothing if they can be ignored. If they can be ignored, they WILL be ignored.
Honestly 10M is pretty small for a CEO of a company that size (especially on 22B in profit).
I kind of like this one. No weirder than naming your kid Rose or something.
Republicans, pro-stupid since 1980!
Totally disagree, however it does depend on what stage of life you’re on. Straight out of college, sure, married at 50, I would say “no”.
I’ve been married almost 25 years and we’ve been sharing finances since before we were married, but we both started with nothing, and we both had college degrees and equal paying jobs out of college, so there was no real disparity of finances.
This seems …um… naive. I love my wife and her opinion of me affects my feelings. And the more I care about my wife, the more I love her, the more her opinion of me matters. Humans are social creatures and we look for positive feedback from the people we care most about. To pretend like this doesn’t matter is silly.
Wait, what? Trump didn’t win the popular vote?
According to the first google search I did, Trump won by 2.5M votes. What’s the logic behind the statement that he “failed to secure a majority of the popular vote”? Oh, are they’re counting 3rd party votes? Who the fuck cares about that? That seems a lame nit-pick TBH.
“Why are blue states always so expensive?!”. It’s supply and demand. High demand to live someplace makes it expensive.
My million dollar house is worth as much as it is because of its located near high paying jobs, good school, and good neighbors. It’s expensive to live where I live because lots of people want to live here.
Trump doesn’t let people gain much power around him and neither Musk or Trump play well with others. Elon will be gone soon enough. I’ve got the popcorn for when the cat-fight starts. Should be fun.
“you spoke mean and hurt my feelings, that’s why I voted for Hitler. It’s your fault.”
I’m confused, why?
I’m 50 and I don’t think I’m an idiot. I don’t think I was an idiot when I was 40. I don’t think I was an idiot when I was 30. I don’t think I was an idiot when I was 20. I don’t think most people around me are idiots. Somehow we must have a different definition of “idiot”.
If you don’t mind sharing, I would love to hear your memories of that.
It was the boombox outside her window that got her, wasn’t it? /s
The ones that really get me are the way they show execs at companies. The “look, this character is so bad ass at being an exec!”. They always come off as so unrealistic and cringy.
I’ve swam in that ocean, and that’s not how that shit works. Engineering too. In reality, it’s always a team of engineers that get something done… It is NEVER some rich smart guy inventing stuff on his or her own in their super fancy workshop.
Nah. It’s a form of economics that rewards supply following demand. I’m pretty lefty liberal and I’m 100% in favor of fair capitalism. For most things.
Capitalism is just a machine, a system, and I fully believe in intelligence and hard work being rewarded over sitting on your couch playing video games. Capitalism also requires a well regulated system, progressive taxes, safety nets, etc. There are also some areas where capitalism doesn’t work and another system should be used, such as health care, police, fire, etc.
However the idea that capitalism is right wing is bullshit. Maybe uncontrolled capitalism is right wing, but I take strong issue with the most effective economic system in the world being considered “right wing”, it’s not.
