trans people are the reason why there’s robust safety and moderation tools on bsky but journalists, more often than not, refuse to hire or bring on trans people to discuss trans issues.

trans people (and sex workers too) were early adopters who left twitter for it and helped shaped the block list, safety features, and moderation system that it boasts today

journalists flocking to a site built on the backs of trans people and they’ll still refuse to hire/interview trans people when talking about trans issues.

so basically he didnt actually do anything boycott worthy. he just had a bunch of perpetually online lefties and righties throwing a tantrum on twitter

because news agencies employ journalists who use social media to report

performative nonsense which does nothing for kids or their mental health and harms queer kids who lose one of the first places they can find community.

i doubt they were doing it maliciously its just the cost of their sudden rapid expansion thanks to threads and twitter collapsing that caused them to prioritise issues differently
