One of my friend groups does a weird thing that I love. We use Discord for video sharing and TeamSpeak for audio while we watch stuff on a shared site. I like the disconnect because we can hop to different rooms in TeamSpeak while seeing people in discord. Sometimes people will call shots, drawing art, etc. and you’ll just see it while being in something like a “quiet convo” TS room to watch the video without drunk people talking over it. People join and you can wave to them while not having to say anything because you’re in a different room with others. It’s like a real party room kinda vibe where you can see everyone but not hear everyone and you form your little groups organically without talking over each other.

It’s niche, but I wish TS/Discord just had that natively.

My local Fred Meyer starting doing some hostile shit recently. For one, they have AI in the self checkout cameras that watches you to make sure you don’t place anything from the cart to the bagging area without scanning. Which includes bags that I brought from home… My wife turned around and bumped her butt on it, and it gave an alarm that it wasn’t scanned.

They recently added railing from the checkouts to the exit, which would be fine if the liquor section didn’t have a fast checkout in the middle of the store. I just slip through the bars with my receipt, and the guy at the door says nothing and just quickly marks your receipt without reading anything.

It’s such an inconvenience for saving a few dollars of stollen food. It’s ridiculous.

Not everyone that didn’t vote supports this. Some people just couldn’t get the day off because they’re living day by day and couldn’t take a day off to wait in line for 5 hours at the one polling place in their city.

Once I moved to a blue city in a blue state, I realized how much freedom I actually have now. Being able to walk to bars/breweries and not be car dependent, but still have the option if I need it, being able to take my dog into restaurants as long as she’s well behaved, being able to lay in the park in the summer while drinking a beer or being high, hiking on substances… the list goes on.
