They do and it gets lambasted. My point stands
Negative. I am a meat popsicle.

Now you get it. A slur doesn’t become not a slur just because it has other meanings
e.g, evaluate this hypothetical statement by fictional commenter Chad Dudebro:
“Calling him a (f-slur) doesn’t mean OP is homophobic. Being a (f-slur) is a state of mind.”
It ain’t the same level of offensive, but “boomer” is obviously an agist slur. Its just that no one cares because its okay to hate old people.
So if someone called a gay person f-slur, its okay because words have different meanings. Got it.
I’m familiar with the argument. And yet it is an age descriptor used as a pejorative. But no one cares because its just old people, right?
Hard disagree. It’s a generation. If people used zoomer or millennial in the same disparaging way in a meme, they’d be lambasted.
Could you not use people’s age as an insult?
If you don’t get it, it’s not even worth explaining.
k, thanks. bye.
edit: I’ve engaged enough here. Feel free to comment if you’d like blocked.
Ever tried to climb 5 flights of stairs after a redeye, with 56 lbs of luggage?
Alias(es) and pseudonyms
Most Billionaires don’t write much code.
Yeap. It do be like that. I once worked for an “ISP” computer shop that re-sold NetZero dialup and de-badged eMachines. (No surprise the owner was an ex-con who has since done time again.)
What if I told you most retail businesses - including restaurants - are just middlemen marking things up that you could buy cheaper elsewhere?
Restaurants, in particular, are famously difficult to operate at a profit. So if your local chicken place isn’t way more expensive, and slower, and/or poor quality it’s probably because they take shortcuts. Very very few places are making things from scratch.
Civ 3,4,5 for one …more… turn. Or for the PlayStation boot sequence loading into MG:S for the 14th play-through.
That’s patently false.
Ironically one of the first comments I saw in this post was “deleted by a moderator.” I guess that person doesn’t get to say whatever they want.
Lemmy is only pseudonymous and is a bit of an echo chamber. Lots of things you write or otherwise share on the Internet (here or elsewhere) can come back to haunt you.
There are disinformation campaigns aimed suppressing voter turnout by sewing FUD about dates, ID, etc.
My school had them everywhere back then. At one point, I owned 2 jaz drives, several Zip drives, and countless disks for each. I later worked the phones during Iomega’s click of death scandal. Yeah, I’m old.
Hey baby, wanna kill all humans?
… I mean, that’s kind of the joke. He was born Stanley Martin Lieber.
I felt like she-hulk could have been better. Maslany is so good, but the writing ended up being kind of bland. I guess I’d call it pretty good, too, but there’s a caveat. I also had no idea there was internet drama; that’s funny stuff.
Jaz drive (and the isa scsi card) and several tapes.
(When I carried a pager) I’d rather occasionally get paged at 3AM for nothing than not get a page when it actually was Something. But those were production systems for things that would make the news if they went down.
Good thing Apple refuses to let me update old hardware, so it stays vulnerable.
If this is you as well, look into Open Core Legacy Patcher. Allows the newer MacOS versions on older hardware.
