Bread is composed of “crust” and “crumb”. The hard part on the outside is the crust and the fluffy part is the crumb. So crumb free bread would be what you have left after you cut the crusts off a sandwich, but keep the wrong part.
My gender is my concern, but you may use any pronoun to refer to me

Those of us who support bike lanes must find other ways to address this interference, not from within the system itself.
This goes so far beyond bike lanes, which is a manufactured controversy. This is Ontario; he’s going to gain more votes than he loses by demonizing cyclists, and he knows it. Unless you are proposing violence, you must mean that we have to vote him out. If that’s the case, we can’t take the bait and we have to move the spotlight back onto what Ford doesn’t want his base thinking about.
Because they intentionally designed infrastructure that they knew would place people at risk when it was practically possible to reach their goals more effectively without fucking killing people.
Ten years ago, yeah. People cannot WAIT to rip that shit up today using the notwithstanding clause.
And if they don’t vote, they get the Ford family.
The shit in Bill 212 is bonkers. The biking stuff is less than a page among a dozen or so. It’s a shitshow from start to finish.
This video explains everything in the bill. I think the bike shit is a distraction. It’s supposed to be upsetting, it’s supposed to seem like they don’t know what the fuck they are talking about. It’s constructed that way so we don’t pay attention to everything else.
You have your chance in a few months.
Colonialism has changed significantly, but it has only grown in terms of net value being transferred from natural and human resources into private ownership. Governance in Canada is still based around the needs of capital with a thin veneer of humanism to give the air of credibility.
(For clarity, I am approaching this as a resident of Canada, I imagine the perspective is different from someone in the UK who feels that they missed out on the British Empire.)
Sorry, when did we throw out colonialism? We’re still doing it just as hard as ever.
Dwight Yoakam just released a new album this week!! I love it!!
thank god it isn’t a dichotomy
Okay, that’s not really compassion. People don’t need to deserve or earn compassion. Having compassion for someone doesn’t mean that you approve of their actions. I don’t think you actually understand what is being said. Your response didn’t really engage with anything I actually said; you’re just restating your same initial feelings, as though trying not to acknowledge what you were responding to. This is exactly the failure to process that I was alluding to. You just turn off part of your brain when it’s desirable not to understand something.
We’re allowed to exploit bacteria.
I guess most GMOs are transgenic and have genetic contributions from nonhuman animals.
I’m not. I condemn slavery. Like holy shit, can you not assume that much?
The problem with slavery isn’t that slavers don’t benefit! How can you sit there and say that slavers don’t benefit from the transaction? Why, then, would they do it?? Just to be dicks??
You’re taking an ideological stance that you don’t fully understand and not considering what you are actually saying. The fact that people benefit from it doesn’t JUSTIFY it. Nothing can justify treating an intelligent creature as property. But that doesn’t mean someone didn’t make bank from it. That doesn’t mean that people alive today are not still benefiting from the tragedies of the past.
Mindfully identifying and meeting your own needs. Acting for yourself as a guardian might. Doing the needful things that will benefit you when you might rather just be a lumpy puddle.
You’re asking why you are “expected” to have human empathy? I can’t answer that, but I can tell you that you are personally better off accepting and processing other people’s emotions and experiences, than you are refusing to do so. You are better off with compassion and allowing yourself to feel pain than you are closing off your heart and feeling nothing; doing the latter maims you and your capacity to feel.
I would have thought that rule 1 would be “no stupid questions” but here we are
Edit: sorry! I read the question as “anti-woke”
