  • I contend that most things wrong with America can be attributed to a few people, two of them of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. A stupid healthcare system? Nixon. College costing so much? Reagan showed Nixon by doing while California as governor. The war on drugs? Nixon and Reagan. The housing crisis? Reagan’s finance sector deregulation. High wealth disparity? Reagan’s business regulations.

  • The federal judge presiding over the church’s bankruptcy, Meredith Grabill, at one point ruled that the seal on case-related information was so sacrosanct that it could not be lifted even with respect to Hecker and his potential crimes. In reaching that decision, Grabill said she intended to “destroy any [sealed] information that this court received” while litigating the issue about whether Hecker deserved to benefit from the bankruptcy’s secrecy.

What the actual hell is wrong with people?! Let’s not forget that the Southern Baptist Church released an incomplete list of its child abusing priests. Incomplete not because they didn’t know names, but because it wanted to protect them.

And conservatives say LGBT+ people are groomers and abusers. Never let them forget who the real predators are, where are they more likely to stay hidden and be protected.

  • I’m thinking similarly and that the Democrats will use the Senate filibuster to block as many things as they can. Of course, conservatives may end up changing the filibuster and ram through all their terrible policies, then they’d only have until the midterms to pass all the crazy stuff they want to pass. Unless they figure out an illegitimate way to stay in power and go full fascist authoritarian on us. No matter what, the next few years are gonna be terrible.

  • Hegseth’s attorney said a payment was made to the woman as part of a confidential settlement a few years after the police investigation because Hegseth was concerned that she was prepared to file a lawsuit that he feared could have resulted in him being fired from Fox News, where he was a popular host. The attorney would not reveal the amount of the payment.

Well… that says a lot all on its own. Why the hell do they keep picking people who are not normal!

  • Tania Cepero López, a faculty union leader, isn’t a caricature of a leftist university professor. An English instructor at Florida International University, she has voted for Republicans and is married to a conservative Republican.

She has watched in horror in recent years, she said, as she saw the same government interference into education in the United States that she experienced in her native Cuba.

I hope Tania and her husband learned something from this. Who am I kidding, they’ll probably support and vote for Republicans down ballot and wonder why things are getting worse. Good luck to the students of conservative run states.
