I hated Myst as a kid. Not just because I disliked the gameplay, but because its inexplicable popularity heralded a shift in the adventure game market. Instead of more Sierra or LucasArts-type games, there were, for years, scads of shitty, boring Myst-likes.
I do have them tagged as “nazi trash”, so that checks out.
I was on the ride last summer, and the only name that I remember being mentioned is Davy Jones, of mythical locker fame. They did add him to the ride in 2006, but he was created for the movie in 2003.

I tried to get into Fallout 4 for the second or third time recently, and have just given up, and uninstalled it. It’s the simplified dialogue that ultimately robs it of any meaning for me. Nobody has anything very interesting to say, and the player just has a few one-word prompts to respond with. I don’t suppose that’s any different in Fallout: London? I imagine they’d have had to go to unreasonable lengths to change it.
The single-player NWN used 3rd edition. I played a lot of NWN2, which was based on 3.5.
Samesies. I think it didn’t help that I played the sequel first. It’s just really damned dated. Some older games age really well, but NWN did not.
It’s true that I’m not on any other social media, but I’m here every day. There really hasn’t been much talk about Veilguard at all. Nothing like, say, all the Starfield criticism.
Is it a big commercial failure? I noped out of the series after seeing the direction they went with Inquisition, but I haven’t really seen any negative press about it. Kinda seems like the article’s just trying to stir up some shit
I had similar feelings about this post. Reminds me of a pansexual family member of mine who claims that everyone is pansexual, really, if they just get over their hang-ups. I’m all for people being who they want to be, and feeling free to express themselves. I dislike the patronizing implication that if I don’t want to wear a crop-top and skirt, it’s because I’m not sufficiently enlightened or liberated.

Yeah, I don’t worry too much about my GD builds being “end-game viable”, I just like finding combinations that are fun to play, and there are enough unique item sets and abilities to keep me entertained for a while. I’ll check out Last Epoch—looks like it might be up my alley!
Have you by any chance played Grim Dawn? I really enjoy the mechanics and aesthetics of it, and I’m wondering how PoE2 compares. I don’t think I’ll ever be in the market for Diablo 4; the P2W cash-grab of Diablo Immortal really soured me on the franchise.
Only tangentially related, but when I was a kid I’d write stream-of-consciousness type stuff in a “code” consisting of the first letter of every word. Whenever I run across one of my old notebooks, I spend some time trying to decipher it, generally without much luck. Sometimes it’ll spark a bit of remembrance, like dipping madeleines in tea.
I think it’s the difference between punching down and punching up. Boomers in general have far more money and power than the people using the term. So complaining that it’s ageist, and comparing it to a homophobic slur will get you about as much traction as white people being offended by cracker, and comparing it to slurs used against African Americans.

I’ve literally never heard a single person refer to these 4 boxes, so I must take issue with your assertion that people are fond of doing it. You’re also seemingly discounting innumerable factors, like the hundreds of billions of dollars spent on distracting and deceiving people into both voting against their best interests, and not voting at all.

Hadn’t played any of these games until recently; picked up the remastered series on sale, and spent months playing through Yakuza 0. Really enjoyed the setting, the characters, the drama, the humorous substories and fun little minigames.
I finally decided to stop hitting the batting cages and move on to Kiwami, which I’ve just started. Loving it so far, although Majima seems to have gone quite mad in the intervening years. Looking forward to a long career of singing karaoke, racing RC cars, and swinging motorcycles around.
As someone who voted for her, I’m completely on board with never seeing her or hearing from her again. She utterly failed — lost a (mostly*) free and fair election to a demented fascist idiot who’s destroying the country. Enough of the responsibility for our current situation rests on her shoulders that she can fuck right off forever, along with Biden, the Bushes, the Clintons, Mitch McConnell, Joe Lieberman, Newt Gingrich and all the other neocons, neolibs, and corrupt, amoral, greedy, misanthropic assholes that got us here.
She might survive as a politician if she took responsibility for the loss, and pushed for change in the Democratic party. Hopefully, she’ll do that, and not follow Clinton’s example. Seems unlikely.
