Given the majority of the supreme court are constitutional literalists, I’m going to stake a claim on very unlikely. That is literally against the first amendment.
Now, let’s say we live in some kind of bizaro land where you can be taken to court without the protection of the first amendment. (Difficult ti believe I know). You would still, hopefully, have a right to an attorney. If your case is high profile, or you have enough money, an organization like the aclu would help.
I think his legacy is all he cares about, but endorsing education and free exchange of ideas certainly isn’t part of it.
I went to Texas A&M where H W’s library is. It’s a… nice building with… uh… museum about him.
Story about H dubs though. I met him. It was at a BBQ joint on the side of the road halfway between College Station and Houston. The town probably has less than 2000 people living in it.
I was meeting my dad for lunch. There were a bunch of suits in sunglasses and earpieces standing in a dirt parking lot full of trucks with rust holes in them.
We walk in and there are H W and Barbara eating brisket.
Unrelated, but I hate when people use percentages like that. You are welcome for my unsolicited opinion

Depends on if his asshattery got you there faster or not
Why not just remove it entirely? 9 is oddly specific
Do a web search for ‘color pallet’ and pick one that looks good with your black replacing the darkest color
Talking to women is the same as talking to men. Treat them like people
I can appreciate that. Especially if the files in question are of sentimental value.
I would suggest transferring your files to a new drive anyway because of bit rot.
Being the typical helpful (pushy and self-important) Linux user, I might add there is no reason you can´t transfer them to Linux 😜
If it isn’t for professional reasons you absolutely can’t avoid, I would switch wholesale. As a once famous song said “Freedom isn’t free. It costs folks like you and me. Andif you don’t put in your buck o five who will?”
It’s really opaque. We won’t know the environmental impact right away. Part of the larger problem is, while folks like you and I make a sizable impact, it’s nothing compared to enterprise usage at scale. Every website, app, and operating system with an AI button makes it even easier for users to interface with AI leading to more queries. Not only that, those queries and responses are collected and used to further make queries.
Should the usage of AI stay stable, improved hardware would decrease carbon output. We should be cautious coming to that conclusion. What is more likely is that increased efficiency will lead to increased usage. Perhaps at an accelerated rate with the anticipation of even more technological breakthroughs down the line.
All that said, I’m really not a doomer. It’s important we all consider the cost of our choices. The way I see it, we are all going to die eventually. I’m old enough it will probably be from something else.
Who’s fault is that? The author or the publisher? Or the college board? Or the accreditation organizations? Or ed tech at large? Place blame where it belongs. Fuck Cengage.
The correct answer is no 🙅♀️
People talk about being there “for” someone. Here being there “with” him is more important. Something as mundane as letting him take a nap on your couch while you fold laundry. The more regular, boring or routine the better. Best if it’s something you can do without talking. That’s harder since you can’t go see each other, but maybe just leaving a video call on or suggesting it to someone else would help.
That’s very helpful now. You have added nothing other than to pull the declarative distro equivalent of “I use Arch, BTW” And then link your literal code. For shame. For shame.
