The first rule of gaming articles/posts: you do not mention the game titles
I hate this. I understand when a for-profit company tries to do this. But too many posts hide the game titles for no reason.
The gist of it is that they are making The Making of Karateka. Which appears to be basically the same thing as a director commentary for a movie but a game. You can play different versions and jump into the game during recorded bits.
It’s basically Atari 50, but about one game instead of one company.
Give me a similar game to Atari 50 but set during the peak of the C64 games and I’d be a very happy guy!
I’d love a remake and commentary on Below the Root, Montezumas Revenge, Raid on Bunling Bay etc.
The Re-booted Yars Revenge on Atari 50 is really fun…
From what I’m hearing there’s one about the works of Jeff Minter in the pipeline. That one will be wild.
Suprised I’ve never heard of this game. Doubly surprised that it is the technological predecessor to Prince of Persia! Anyone who’s played PoP knows how impressive the rotoscoped animation was for the time.
Kotaku’s pretty clickbaity, so adding a blurb would help saving a click.
I love this. Commentary tracks are a huge part of movies for me (I hate how streaming services usually omit them). Definitely should do more of that for games.
Impossible Mission is my favorite rotoscoped game, but Karateka was a close second!
