    We have Church and Sunday school for this why are my tax dollars going to be spent teaching my kids some random person’s religion or choice?

    In the case of Texas, malicious compliance would just be “directly” quoting Jesus. Make a few 7th graders write essays on the Sermon on the Mount and the Texas board will be racing to replace Bible studies with some “free enterprise” course about the magic of capitalism.

    Edit: I added quotes around “directly” because obviously, Jesus didn’t write the New Testament so the quotes aren’t direct.
