I know, right?!? If the report cleared Gtz completely they would have shared it with great enthusiasm. In this case the silence is indeed deafening.

The committee is 5/5, Democrat/Republican. Care to rethink that comment?

Look, these people are playing a game we barely understand, at a level we can’t comprehend, at stakes we don’t understand.

Best guess from my dumbass? They let the “hacked leak” do the dirty work. The facts get out, but no one can point a finger at the committee. Bonus: A “leak” won’t be taken as seriously as an official release.

And as to why Gaetz got busted in the first place? (He was my Congressman, so I’ve been following along closer than most.) He was a rich frat-boy who got into federal office long before he was ready to play. FFS, he was showing his “conquest” fuck pics on the House floor. Dumbass should have learned to play in the state House before he went national. He was a child among wolves, and now they’re eating him.

Anyway, they’re meeting again on 12/05. Let’s see if they have the balls to release the official report.

A game we barely understand? Bullshit.

It’s a game of self preservation. It always is and has been. There’s nothing more to it. Preserve your power, make deals, and find ways to compromise and make yourself come out of top while making those that supported you have a win.

I had seen yesterday that someone was able to gain access to the report; it’s time to post it, post haste.

I can “say” anything I want. I have pictures of Trump and Schiff making out in the backseat of a Honda Odyssey. Ask me to release them. ASK ME!

If it is real, there is likely a bidding war between people that will release it and people that will bury it. The “hacker” is getting paid and doesn’t care if it comes out or not.

“I will say that a vote was taken,” Wild said. “As many of you know, this committee is evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans — five Dems, five Republicans — which means that in order to affirmatively move something forward, somebody has to cross party lines and vote with the other side — which happens a lot, by the way, and we often vote unanimously.”

If you’re wondering who these politicians are that agree across party lines on ethical issues:

    Republicans

    Chairman Michael Guest, Mississippi

    David P. Joyce, Ohio

    John H. Rutherford, Florida

    Andrew R. Garbarino, New York

    Michelle Fischbach, Minnesota

    Democrats

    Ranking Member Susan Wild, Pennsylvania

    Veronica Escobar, Texas

    Mark DeSaulnier, California

    Deborah K. Ross, North Carolina

    Glenn F. Ivey, Maryland

I just read that one of the Democrats said none of that is true and there was no deal. So, I guess we’ll have to wait for more reporting.

I think you may have just read my quote and not the article< or there’s a misunderstanding here.

What exactly do you mean “none of that is true”?

The quote doesn’t say there was a deal, just that a vote was taken…

I’m sorry but if you don’t release this report, you can’t continue calling yourself an ethics committee, because you objectively aren’t.

House ethics committee. They’re arguing they don’t investigate anyone outside of congress. They’re not weighing in on the ethical actions of random people.

I mean it’s a stupid argument since the investigation is about a member of the house. At no point was the investigation done on someone that wasn’t a congressman during the investigation. It’s just the dumbest, most republican-ass, totally unsurprising move. But, it’s not like these Republicans are known for their ethics.

Has Trump nominated anyone yet that hasn’t been involved in issues of sexual assault or harassment? Maybe Dr. Oz, but other than that, he’s really knocking them out of the park. If the GOP starting getting critical of pedophiles, they’d lose half their caucus.

The ironic thing here is that the ethics committee is a shit committee. They don’t have anywhere near the influence you think it does.

This is the most power the committee is ever going to have.
