This came across my GamingOnLinux feed, and I figured y’all might share my interest.

I’m excited for this dock release because my simple JSAUX HDMI dongle has always been a more reliable SteamDeck dock, for me, than my official SteamDeck dock.

I understand recent patches to the SteamDeck official dock may have solved many of the issues I was having.

But it’s still cool to see a brand I already trust adding a targeted SteamDeck product.

I don’t see whether it accounts for my habit of keeping my SteamDeck in a protective case, though.

I had one Nintendo Switch fry itself when plugged into a non-nintendo USB C connection, so I wouldn’t risk it.

I learned the hard way that the switch is apparently notoriously picky about it’s chargers.

The nintendo switch came out at the cusp of the switch to USB C, and before USB PD was fully hammered down, so it uses a weird custom/old version.

This is on Nintendo for not updating the standard on newer models, incorporating the old standard to make older peripherals work, and include rock-solid overvolt.

Wonder if this has CEC support, that’s a pretty important feature they’ve finally added to the Steam Dock
