I’m actually in the process of trying to relocate my /home directory (to a folder in a separate partition, not a separate disk) for my Bazzite desktop installation, so if anyone with tips happens to see this please say so!

I’ve gotten to spend some time where my major responsibility was to refactor and improve “research-grade” code from some scientists. Felt like tending a Zen rock garden, but code lol, I found it really relaxing and lovely.

Dead Prez been radical and vocal about social and political issues since long before everyone else got there. Music is probably dated by now but their messages have always been consistent and they are very applicable today.

I can’t tell if you’re saying “we should know better, of course they’re all doing this shit” - which I agree with - or closer to “it’s their app(s), they can do what they want, and we shouldn’t expect them to be transparent”, which I very much disagree with.

Thanks for the info! So far I’ve been enjoying those same characteristics. I spend my work day arguing with computers, so I have little patience for doing more of it when I’m off (more seriously, I carefully marshall my tech efforts outside of work as a long-term strategy against burnout). I appreciate how “out of the box” gaming (and anything else I’ve tried) works in Bazzite, and the stability has been great too. Though to be fair, def helps that it’s my first experience with Plasma which really makes the “feeling” of the OS pop, in an unfair way lol.

My new measure for intuitiveness of an interface - do half-drunk, clumsy fumblings with a mouse occasionally reveal a slick new feature I wasn’t aware of?

Feel like elaborating? I’ve been running it for a couple weeks and very happy so far. One nice little feature was how I can just scroll on top of the little sun icon in the taskbar and my monitors dim and brighten. But that’s prolly a Plasma thing more than anything else.

But then don’t you have to set it to a precise time on the clock each time you use it, rather than “30 min in the future”, for example? The issue for me is timers that I set often, like while cooking. Seems like a minor annoyance maybe but I use them while cooking and entertaining especially, AKA having my attention severely split already lol, additional complexity is to be avoided

I have graduated to even screwing up my timers. Now the timer doesn’t get silenced until the thing it is timing gets accomplished. Unless I’m distracted and fail to use that rule, then it’s back to square one of course.

Fun fact (eh…more like barely recollected memory, likely to be wrong to some extent) -

The tires on those big ass haul trucks are seriously dangerous as they reach end of life - a blowout on something that size is real violent. Far as I know, they’ve got a ton of instrumentation these days to keep track of conditions and remaining life, etc.

I’m fairly strict about content and usage with mine, and she plays the heck out of Roblox. I’ve played with her. This has not been my experience at all.

I’ve heard there are some SERIOUSLY dangerous people / groups on the platform, but that’s true everywhere to some extent and we haven’t had issues. But damn, ya know what, I need to watch this whole entire show again, it was fucking AWESOME. Avasarala herself (not in this clip of course) is dope enough to merit a re-watch, and there are so many cool characters and excellent performances, the writing is great, the universe is great, fuck. I’m not even a TV or really movie watcher.
