I switched to Fennec.

I am running Arch with KDE and Wayland on my system with an i7-12700KF and an EVGA 3090 FTW and I can’t say it has been “flawless”

Once I setup Arch on it with the proper configuration, and using the Proprietary drivers, I can game on it and everything else I need to do.

If I had a do over, I would have gone all AMD but when I built this PC I was on Windows. But never again.

I dual booted for a while. That “a while” ended when Windows ate GRUB.

I had enough. I decided enough was enough. I kept windows on one SSD, just in case I wanted to go back. That didn’t last long, I wiped that drive, and formatted it to BTRFS. Now none of my drives are NTFS.

For the one case I “need” Windows, I spun up a VM (and configured USB passthrough) for Windows. That is for a guitar pedal and amp that I need Windows for updates. But I don’t remember the last time I booted up that VM.

For music recording and production I installed Reaper for Linux natively, but that was an easy transition considering Reaper was what i used in Windows. Sure VSTs were a big concern for me, so I investigated VST bridge type software. And I can’t recall the ones I investigated. But this is where I am at on my journey.

I don’t care how “easy” it is to just stay the same and keep using Windows, it isn’t for me. I don’t agree with their data collection policies. I don’t agree with the “black box” mentality. I want to know what is happening on my system. I want to understand what I am using. And at a certain point with Windows, I just don’t have the ability, tools, or inside scoop to fully learn that.

With Linux, the journey may have taken time, effort, and willingness to troubleshoot and learn but it ultimately is a better experience.

There have been very few games I couldn’t get working on my system, but those games aren’t enough to sell out my ideals. I will never go back.

I would rather be a farmer.

Could you lendna little help to adding Mulls user.JS please? I haven’t had luck in ways I’ve tried. I am rooted.

It was just a delay of the builds being available. I was able to upgrade.

I run Arch on both my PC and Laptop. I self host a few containers to stream media from. Either use web front end, or native apps.

I both have a job, and maintain all of this. For fun.

However, with Mull going away, I wonder how long the user.js from Mulls repo will be viable.

Edit: also trying to find the user.js that Mull uses is proving difficult for my dumbass.

I don’t connect my Roku TV to the internet, and always use external devi e via HDMI.

In my brief testing, using Arkenfox didn’t work for Fennec for me. It wouldn’t connect to any site.

I am rooted, and copied the user.js to data/data/org.mozilla.fennec_froid/files/mozilla/[xxxxxxx].default and deleted prefs.js

Checked about:config _config.is.applied and it was set to true.

Couldn’t even browse to any site.

So I am going to have to do some more research.

Any recommendations for that? Arkenfox comes to mind

Yeah, I saw it’ll be supported, just no links yet. I’ll likely clean install this instead of upgrade.

I didn’t say I hate billionaires. They shouldn’t exist != I hate them. You conflate two opinions that could agree as the same thing.

My stance on billionaires will not change because you thought you hit me with a “gotcha” moment.

Billionaires should not exist because no person can get to be a billionaire without stepping on others to get there. Billionaires aren’t inherently worth more than anyone else.

If billionaires exist at the same time of people suffering (homelessness, medical debt and inability to pay for treatment, starvation, etc and the list goes on) then they shouldn’t exist. That amount of wealth is for sociopaths, that amount of wealth is amassed by those lacking empathy, and moral value.

So take your argumentative behavior elsewhere.

Not OP, but he’s a billionaire. There is no such thing as an ethical billionaire. No amount of work they have done would earn billions.
