Remember Todd Akin’s comment on sexual assault?
"It seems to me, from what I understand from doctors, that’s really rare,” Mr. Akin said of pregnancies from rape. “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. But let’s assume that maybe that didn’t work or something: I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be of the rapist, and not attacking the child.”
Not that it matters if an abortion is requested due to rape or any other reason, but this quote really drives home that it isn’t really about protecting children despite that last line: they think all women who get abortions should be punished for being murderous sluts despite all evidence to the contrary.
Because reactionaries know that they only win when they supress the vote.
If everyone voted, the GOP would not exist as a national party.
We need to get Tucker back in to a studio with him to get roasted over his slack-jaw stare and fascist tendencies.
Hadrian’s Wall marked the boundary between Roman Britannia and unconquered Caledonia to the north.
It’s pretty shocking, but I can fit 2 Ds in my mouth.
And his throw pillows, too.
The mod there is always doing that game where he winks about how the Democrats were the slave owners during the civil war, as if the numerous political realignments since then never happened.
I got banned yesterday for posting a speech by Lincoln where he was mocking slavers because they called themselves “conservatives” despite the fact that they wanted to break long-standing prohibitions and push slavery onto the rest of the country.
He apparently didn’t appreciate my demonstration that it’s always been ideological conservatives who are consistently weirdo fascist losers.
Sure buddy.
I’m glad you found a way to disengage without having to think about it. Must be a pretty fragile ego you have there if you go to such hilarious lengths to protect it.
…You realize it’s all there, right?
ETA: for everyone to see?
Let’s sum up:
You can’t understand a simple sentence explaining that you accept that there are common-sense limitations on the principles of liberal democracy (like freedom of speech), but you don’t accept that there are also common-sense limitations on the principles of anarchy (like freedom of association).
Then you tell me that I’m in denial about… something? It isn’t clear, really.
Then you tell me that I’m stupid for editing a spelling mistake.
What a hero to dig in your heels and die on the dumbest possible straw-man hill. I have so much to learn from you. I’ve changed my mind, thank you for correcting me with your angsty-teenager understanding of anarchism. o7
Oh, I see.
You think correcting yourself when you make a mistake is stupid.
That makes a whole lot of sense, actually.
ETA: TTYL! I can make you look foolish all day, baby! You give me such good material LMAO!
You’re inviting me to live in denial with you as your guest?
That’s very sweet, but I prefer reality.
Westerns can either be amazing or terrible.
Not much in between IMO.
I guess I walked right into that one?
Though telling me you don’t understand isn’t the brag you apparently think it is.
Same energy
ETA: It’s really funny that you’re making this argument in a thread you about how people don’t understand how the first amendment has limits, much like the principles of many types of anarchism have limits.
10/10, no notes.
Remember when they banned the word “fascist?”
Self-awarenes doesn’t seem to be their strength.
I feel like you should every now and then…
Of course.
That’s what makes it even worse though: the joke is that Rudy isn’t really “molestable”, but the old freak goes for it anyway.
And the pièce de résistance is, of course, that he was found to have sexually assaulted at least one woman in a department store.
In the words of Kurt Vonnegut: we are what we pretend to be.
