  • I think part of what we are seeing with poorer progressive performance is a symptom of the apathy that occurs when democrats “win” and progressive policy doesn’t materialize.

Obviously as sensible people we know that we had sinema and manchin and we lacked the house so there was only so much biden could do, however as voters it still feels like a letdown and I believe that unfortunately emotion is a strong driver for voters.

This is part of Biden’s baggage that Kamala inherited unfortunately. If we had a primary maybe we could have had a chance to rile up the base and get some excitement going.

At the end of the day I think this election was lost on fucking v i b e s, as dumb as that is. People feel kinda shitty about stuff and they blame the incumbent even though he’s doing his best.

I think progressive policies get people a lot more excited than moderate conservative stuff, and in my view why would a conservative vote for a democratic when their party delivers so hard for them. A pivot to the center will only alienate the left in my view.

Maybe I’m wrong about all this, but at the end of the day a democratic party that keeps pivoting to the right doesn’t represent me very much.

  • This kind of comment has been exceptionally helpful all election long. Maybe y’all can learn that you aren’t entitled to votes you have to actually earn them 😘, or don’t fuck if I care.

I voted for hilary, biden and kamala, but none of them were suited to meet this moment in american history.

This is a failure of the neoliberals and their democratic party, but neither of them actually give a shit since they just make money off fundraising against bad orangeman.

But go ahead and moan if it helps you cope with what’s coming the next 4 years, you’ve earned that much.

  • Because moderates will compromise a progressive policy to death. Where is the public option?

Its cool man, im 33 and I’ve voted democrat in every election. I always push left but I showed up for barack, hilary, biden, and kamala.

This neoliberal shit is not going to fly with leftists, maybe y’all do need to push further right, hell why not just amalgate with republicans? Fuck it, its a a diverse nation afterall.

See ya in 2 years, where I’ll tow the party line again and get blamed for its loss again somehow.

  • Look I voted because I’m a big picture guy and I see where you are coming from but the Democrats made it very clear they didn’t give a fuck about the left vote this time around.

Maybe this time they will learn that if people want a conservative they will just vote for the psycho-conservative party that actually delivers than the milquetoast-conservative party that crows about “unity” and “woke” shit all the time.

    Haha who am I kidding

  • People are tired of the democrats not delivering and not fighting hard enough. They care more about unity and decorum than delivering for their base, so much so that they abandon the left to court the likes of cheney 🤮.

The message is clear, if you don’t make concessions or compromises with the left elements of your party, if you don’t get the base on board with your platform, 15 million of us will just sit out the election.

But please keep blaming the people when Democrats failed on messaging and on milquetoast policy. It happened with corporate ass hilary and corporate ass kamala, the only reason biden won was because of the concessions he made to bernie in the primary coupled with covid and mail in voting directly in peoples minds.
