I was very active 8 years ago… but now my knees and back hurt all the time… 🫠
Great point. It’s probably why I enjoyed Parks & Rec and Brooklyn 99 more than other shows in the same vein. Even 30 Rock only kept me watching because of characters like Kenneth.
Some other possible loopholes:
What is a “home”? Does it need to have a roof or a door or walls?
What happens if the vampire is knocked unconscious and then the resident tells another person to bring them inside?
This is definitely more complex than I originally thought.
Hey thanks for writing this out. I noticed these exact changes a few years ago, but I don’t have enough self-awareness or articulation to have expressed it the way you did. I am relieved that my bodies reactions are not unique.
I read this in Gandalf’s voice.
Humans are insanely creative sometimes… I’m doing my part! One frame drawn!
Good write up! It certainly made me nostalgic for the games of that era.
I love this perspective! Thanks for sharing!
artificially high wage
The wages are currently artificially low. Everyone who is sane wants them brought up to the correct level.
How did he go from ‘Dirty Jobs’ to this…
Is that monospaced? I am both horrified and impressed.
I didn’t believe you, so I looked up those cases. While there’s a little more nuance to the cases than your summaries, you are pretty spot on. We are all cursed with this disgraceful knowledge now.
I’m rooting for you, Gen Z. Do and say the things that previous generations were trained not to do…
You bring up legitimate concerns, but I think the bigger point here is that the Fediverse is not Reddit, nor should it be. I find that fragmentation mitigates the system manipulation and “gaming” that is often tied to people who rely on exposure.
I had no idea the self doubt could go deeper, until now… I guess I really am an imposter.
It’s a little buried in the account settings, but Netflix does allow account sharing for an additional fee (~$7?). I know families that went with this option so they could continue sharing their account with elderly parents, and college aged children.
I imagine that if a group of friends agreed to split the cost of an account + fees, they would end up paying less than having individual accounts.
… son, and holy ghost…
