Hence the “And” at the beginning of what I was saying.
Networking isn’t the only way to get a job. Helps, yes, but if you aren’t in a position to have that luxury there are other ways.
And if you don’t know people then call them or show up if possible. Just get ahold of even the receptionist. Taking initiative is a skill and it NEVER looks bad. I hired a guy I wasn’t looking to hire because he walked in, said he needed a job, and why he wanted to work for us. He didn’t waste my time, was succinct and had a great personality and attitude. As a hiring manager of over a decade those are hard skills to find. I set an interview time for him to come back the next day and he showed up 15min early (good) and blew me away in the interview just being honest and having a good attitude.
There are 2 skills most people suck at:
You hate being late and have reliable transportation (this matters in the US). You’re a life learner and want to grow and develop your skills.
These are dealbreakers for me: 3) Team Player. In many positions, if you like working mostly solo, no one wants to manage that. Being a team player that doesn’t mind helping others and/or asking others for help when needed is essential to a team’s success. 4) Take personal accountability for your actions. If you can’t do this you are poison to a team. I’ve let go technically great people because something that went wrong was always someone else’s fault. Once they’re gone the team thrives and outperforms the technical excellence of one.
Right, on fiber at home I hit 1.7TB on average/month. This doesn’t include me working 40 hours on the company network either.
Totally agree. It’s BS but at least Mint’s is fairly high. I stream all my music daily and watch whatever I want and typically it’s below 15GB/month. I’d have to be downloading Linux ISOs to hit 40.
US Mint Mobile $30/mo unlimited data, texts, calls. One of the best unlimited rates in the US. I use north of 12GB/mo so no limited plan is going to cut it for me.
When the programmers of these old titles are saying they’d rather have people keep playing them even if they’re only available on archive site, I say screw the publishers.
If I were a woman this is what I’d do. Great, loyal animal, that will give you peace of mind knowing they’ll keep the creeps away.
And how exactly are they going to enforce this? Kids always find a way around … always.
This is super fun and heart warming. Love it!
It’s really not. I have one on my work laptop and have never plugged an Ethernet jack into it. That stays permanently in my dock and gets transferred to the laptop via USB-C. All other non-desk work is done via … WiFi. Shock! Literally can’t tell the difference when making money.
Not to mention discord channels you have to be invited to.
Ones that will last will cost you. Oelo Lighting Solutions, Jellyfish, and Gemstone are all great but $$$$.
None. We have made politics a taboo subject at dinner. We know we don’t agree (older generations vs younger) and would rather converse about things we enjoy like the grandkids etc.
Well yes and no. With running or writing those actions will stop at some point because we aren’t capable of doing them forever. Infinity doesn’t stop.
I think of it this way, infinity is an action. It’s not a “thing.” This is why it’s not countable. It doesn’t stop to be counted.
Probably need to see a speech therapist.
When I want a quick bag, sure do. Kirkland (Costco) popcorn is great and dirt cheap.
But when I want great popcorn we use our popcorn popping machine with some coconut oil, flavocol, and butter topping. This is the recipe the movie theaters use.
Panasonic inverter microwaves are the best in the industry for residential. They’re the only ones that can control the microwave power level without cheapening out and turning it on and off only. The over the range microwaves aren’t any better unless they’re an Advantium type that cooks with light and convection fan.
Sign me up! Looks great.
