There’s many internet spaces that are better than lemmy regarding misogyny, any platform that does not have a strong majority of cis men is probably better than lemmy.

I was on trollx and it was a nice community. A community with a name derived from two X chromosomes will never be fully trans inclusive though.
The is why dull_mens_club gives me really bad vibes. Any similar community aimed at women would be harassed into oblivion.
I’ve frequently seen misogynistic posts or comments removed only after 1 or 2 days which is basically useless on a platform where posts get most of their views and interactions in 1 day.
Tbh I’m happy with the new onehundredninetysix com, I’d prefer if these mods and anyone that supports their decisions move to .world
I never really liked this comic or the concept of sealioning because in this comic the ‘annoying’ entity is someone who is being outcasted based on their identity. In a comparison between bigots and marginalised groups, a marginalised group has more in common with the sea lion than the humans, and the bigots have more in common with the humans.
The comic is more logically read as bigots that are annoyed that the minority they’re discriminating against is defending their rights to exist.
I think it’s good for 196 to leave because at least to me it’s clear that your values don’t fully align with this instance and if you leave then the trans community posts don’t get drowned out anymore by 196 posts. Hopefully 196 leaving will boost the trans meme communities here a bit more (and maybe there’ll be more interest in a new meme/generalposting community).
Please, you did paint ada in a bad way and if that was truly unintentional then you should edit that comment and remove the unfounded accusations. I very much agree with ada’s moderating actions to make sure blahaj.zone is a safe space for trans people that don’t wish to constantly battle with transphobic or misogynistic dog whistles.
Weren’t .world admins also banning references to jury nullification and jokes about Luigi Mangioni killing more CEO’s?
Trans is an umbrella term as used in the meme you commented under. Non binary people fall under that umbrella and trans definitely is not short for transitioning. You should definitely not comment on trans vocabulary if you clearly aren’t knowledgeable on it as it harms our community.
It seems quite literally what you asked? If not then you should rephrase.
I’m really happy for all Gazans that finally get a breath of air. The fight for Palestinian liberation must continue by the people in the western nations that support the genocidal regime.
‘Man’ isn’t ‘designated’ to anything. We just exist and are sentient and able to think about what we would like our lives to look like. Most people would like to live a life beyond working 40 hours a week on a job they don’t enjoy and where they have no say in anything. We have enough resources to make sure everyone has a home and food and can live a fulfilling life, if only those resources were divided in a fair way.
The English do. Most other European do use meters.
Yes but unlike most people, their losses do get covered by insurance.
US military is used against civilians all the time already? Syria and Yemen are the most recent examples. And that’s ignoring the military ‘aid’ sent to commit genocide on Palestinians.
No one is defending that problematic behaviour. The user should be banned for that (if true) but it has literally nothing to do with them having neopronouns. Read my (and ada’s) comment again and do some introspection before you hurt our community more. Stop being a terf-like transphobe.
You’re portraying people who use neopronouns in a really unfair way that sounds pretty transphobic to me. The user this whole discussion originated from never even demanded that people use drag’s pronouns. Imo drag has other problematic behaviour that has nothing to do with drag’s gender expression or pronouns. Drag was pretty understanding when it came to people not understanding drag’s pronouns.
You sound exactly like a terf who is afraid that trans women will somehow get in the way of the feminist struggle. Social struggles aren’t won by pointing at someone more marginalised than you and ridiculing them, they’re won by being radically inclusive of all marginalised groups and advocating against oppression of all forms.
Think about how you feel when getting misgendered or when people don’t accept you being trans. Imagine how it feels for someone who doesn’t fit into the gender binary and has neopronouns to be told that their gender expression sets ‘a bad example’ for the rest of the trans community. If you want to ‘represent trans people’, then as a fellow trans person I’ll say you’re doing a bad job.
Most social media? Instagram, youtube, tumblr, bluesky. And I bet there’s tons of forums by and for women.
