Well I mean it’s a disease agency. Missinformation on X is bad. Their job however is about getting the word out to people of what to do to avoid diseases. People don’t switch networks to follow their favorite health agencies. So… if the job is to warn people about serious shit… it kind of is important to be where the people are currently and try and get the facts heard among the misinformation.

Well I have to say, off the bat, it needs to be not just leftist/marxist. It would need to have large non offensive use in general discourse.

Again my example of pepe for general discord moderation. It’s not trolls that show up in say political discussion groups. It’s trolls that show up in random game discords or other non-pollitical locations. IE as a moderator I’d also be auto banning someone bringing up random arguements on how we need wealth re-distribution, not because I disagree with them, but because people are just there to talk about a game, and not have political arguement.

and in short that’s generally the thing, IMO Pepe isn’t… really that overwhelmingly good of a meme where it’s just a universal funny to outside groups. But the alt right is the only ones bringing it into more general average Joe locations, along with their hateful rhetoric.

In short for pepe to be recovered it needs… major mainstream Apolitical usage, which quite frankly I don’t see often.

Capitalists. We can’t regulate businesses, if a corporation is opperating unsafe, harming the environment, spreading hateful messages etc… the only check and balance we need is the free market, and the consumers voting with their wallets.

Point is… Pepe is the modern swastika… For those who don’t know, the swastika was a peaceful symbol used by many different cultures for thousands of years. But the fact is, using it now just gives legitimacy to those who have attached it to their hateful messages.

I still have to say what it is, is meant to be a very strong deterant rather than sharing. Now again I do think it’s stupid and bullshit to consider porn use a problem unless it’s actually causing an impact in life. The point is in theory he’d be mortified if his son were to catch him looking at porn, therefore he won’t look at porn because he knows his son would find out. The idea of it is to show his son he’s not looking at porn, and to keep his son from looking at porn. The software blocks most porn, and sends out a notification to the other person when it has to block something, and then gives a list of everything that he did visit, which would make it apparent if say he were to happen to find something that slipped through.

The point is still that it isn’t sharing porn with his son… because the intention, and most likely the results are, none of the reports will have porn because it’s a deterant. Realistically if Mike Johnson is going to look at porn, He’s going to use it on a device that he didn’t install the software on that his son doesn’t know he has. The power portion of it is kind of irrelevant, yes it’s true his son can’t ground him… but his son would call him a hypocrite.

Again the bigger key is, these morons think looking at porn is a serious problem to worry about, and they are willing to go through and waste so much time and effort, in ways that’s likely to constantly interupt regular internet use. The idea that it would be used in a “ooh I see you were watching X, that’s my favorite fetish too!”, I find misrepresentative of how these things actually work.

Kind of like the old joke. Never invite a baptist to your party, he will drink all of your beer. Instead invite 2 baptists to your party, and they won’t touch a drop.

Most importantly it will be a joke that attempts to deliver itself in a responsible way so that minimizes the chance of people who don’t understand the joke, will inflict great harm on people.

Further have to say in fairness to the average american (which… apparently the average american voted for trump).

It’s not just the price of eggs… it’s basically everything… simply in anecdotal evidence, in the last few years, the price of all living essentials went up. Most people are experiencing their average grocery trip going up 50% or more… Rents skyrocketing etc…

and the democrats were bad at messaging. When things are hard, people blame the leaders, and Biden does get a lot of credit for, minimizing the damages covid did to our prices etc… Unfortunately the average american heard his response to it as “I did great, everything is good now”. Which didn’t work, because while things may be as good as they could be with the cards that fell… they are very far from good.

So yes, it’s lack of knowledge. Certainly the biggest point to be made is, trumps tariff plan is massively going to raise the price on everything, economist after economist has pointed out it will raise the price. But honestly I didn’t see much of attacking those plans in harris’s attack ads.

To be fair… IMO I think that idea is mislabeled and misunderstood.

Now the idea of opposing porn is just plain stupid. I’d expect any teenager to get their hands on porn and going against that is nonsense. But I’d say the labeling saying that it’s watching porn with your son, is very misleading.

The point of it is, it’s just a porn blocker with a detection switch, it’s not so you and your son can brag to each-other over what porn you are into. It’s made basically a switch to rat you out if you tried to bypass it.

IE that would be like if an alcoholic had a device that sends his wife an alert any time he tries to get an alcoholic drink. It’s made to discourage you from trying because you’d be caught.

Again I fully disagree with that software because, I don’t see porn itself as inherently harmful, but if you accept the idea that porn is harmful, I see it as a reasonable method to try and discourage yourself from accessing it.

I mean, it’s just like e-mail addresses, I really don’t understand the difficulty. Yes technically if I want to e-mail joe smith, I need to know his address, including what mail provider he uses. Which is why when I ask for his e-mail address he tells me “Joesmith@gmail.com”. and not just joesmith.

IE if you said “I’m not opening this up to Chinese millitary use because I don’t want anyone to be killed using the tool I’ve made”.

on the other hand if your reason given was

“I am not opening this up to chinese millitary because I would fear they might use this against the US millitary”. then you at least aren’t bullshitting anyone.
