Have you ever considered that the Prime Directive is not only not ethical, but also illogical, and perhaps morally indefensible?
I was ready to pack it in after the first, and I’m not convinced the Jets deserved that win after the abysmal away games, but damned if they didn’t get it together tonight…eventually.
My experience with modding an external community hasn’t been too bad, but it’s a very lightly used community, and there’s also a mod with a local account, which gives a certain level of safety.
I’ll chime in here - I don’t know if this is OP’s issue, but I have experienced issues in the past with being able to clearly tell which languages in the list are selected, and/or the selected language settings saving properly.
I haven’t played around with it in months, but at the time I thought maybe it was just my browser theme/system colour settings that were making it hard to tell exactly what was selected.
I agree with those who are saying that a list of possible languages with accompanying check boxes would be more intuitive than the current implementation.
Census complete. I ain’t going to Lemmy Jail. Not again.
Ah, I gotcha.
Each community has the power to restrict the languages used in that community.
I can’t speak to the effectiveness of the system, as I don’t really spend time in non-English communities, but it’s certainly a poorly-documented feature.
It ensures that people who can’t read your post (that is, they have that language deselected in their own account settings) won’t see it.

Because the Speaker of the House is a non-partisan position.
In what way is he a “scapegoat”?
He can’t fire the speaker, but he can kick him out of the Liberals.
Kicking a former Speaker out of the party because of actions taken as Speaker would be a terrible precedent.
Pretty weird move from an education minister, too, unless Polish politics are very different from ours.
Trust would have seen someone point out “This person is not who you think he is.” and the speaker realizing “Oh shit, you’re right. We had better cancel these ceremonies.”
My interpretation of this is that someone would have had to know that this person is not who he thought he was, and given him the heads-up.
Who are you asserting had prior knowledge of this and said nothing?
This same ad showed up in my mail yesterday - it wasn’t just in the paper.
Yeah, I think he should definitely step down as Speaker.
This seems as good a place as any to say that I’ve seen actual Parliamentary-minded people (Kady O’Malley, for one) point out that it would actually be inappropriate for the government to have any say in who the Speaker invites to the HoC. This is something that Andrew Scheer, as a former Speaker himself, knows.
I’m not normally one for fan chants, but that was good comedy.
