I just started playing WoW again and I don’t feel any pressure from the supposed “dark patterns”, or having to buy this stuff (which I can’t, because I’m not in the US). It has zero effect on my gameplay. WoW is fun and addicting in a sense for sure, but there are way worse MMOs when it comes to this. Just look at any Korean MMO, like Black Desert Online. I’d even argue ESO is way worse than WoW when it comes to monetization.
On a related note, what math should one know? Are there any upsides to go beyond everyday math? To brush up on lost math skills? I’ve forgotten most of my math classes, as I wager most have…
Even if it’s not as popular, I’d say the community might still be more solid in some cases. And that people are more responsive, especially with quality answers. I’ve noticed you’re chastised way more on reddit if you ask a “stupid” question.
Awesome. I loved playing WC3 tower defense. How does this compare to those old school maps?
I also like their very picturesque cabin picture with a rainbow haha
It seems weird FBI would post misinformation regarding how “they” are spending the money
RSS Guard was actually great. I love the more old-school but super functional UI. I don’t need any fancy stuff, just stuff that works. Awesome tip.
Seems very promising!
Endless growth will kill us all. I can’t tell you how much I detest these “concerns”.
Cool idea!
Yeah, I’ve been using OpenRSS to get the RSS feed of e.g. APNews, but it’s such a sad state of affairs that it feels like RSS is disappearing
Great explanation, thank you! Hamachi brings back memories haha
Probably just me that’s confused. I thought Tailscale was similar to WireGuard but much easier to set up. So one connects to the services directly, and not just the general home network (like a VPN) where you then enter whatever address you need to access the service?
How’s the power draw on mobile devices?
Very interesting. Didn’t know this was a possibility. I don’t need anything now but thanks for offering, might get back to you
I mean, most high-end phones today doesn’t support SD cards so this can be a reason why to selfhost.
Yeah it’s for sure an issue in the rest of the world too. Not discounting that
Not everything needs to have a “point”. Sometimes just making things for fun can be enough of a point in itself.
