they have a huge interest in placing inept, incompetent, easily manipulated fools in power, in their “enemy” countries.
They have really outdone themselves this time. It’s actually impressive.

Some perhaps. Not all. And not all to the same degree. It’s something we can work to move beyond. That ability is also human nature.
One of the few areas Biden is really head and shoulders above the rest though.
You get that result if you set the filter to “all” election cycles, but not if you set it to one of the more recent ones. The “all” figure is influenced by the fact that Biden is old and has been through many election cycles.
They may not like it, but it’s a different question whether they’ll disobey orders.
Trump has also said he would invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, to expel suspected members of drug cartels without due process.
Without due process, how do you establish who is a member of a drug cartel? I guess Trump and the cops get to decide whether someone looks the type. So basically they plan to deport anyone they don’t like the look of. Join a protest or a picket line and you too could become a suspected cartel member.
Ah yes, I misunderstood, sorry. I’ll leave my other comment because it’s still a serious concern, and there will be people who think all research should be privately funded.
They’re not going to stop it, just seriously disincentivize it. Pulling billions of dollars of research funding and making it doubtful whether any developed vaccine can be sold in the USA will have a huge effect on the ability of academic institutions to do research and the willingness of corporations to do so.
And time for the USA to ban vaccines and infectious disease research, thanks to RFK Jr.
It’s OK, if RFK Jr goes ahead and eliminates vaccines and infectious disease research, as he has stated he will, it’s likely something else will kill us first.
I don’t. I don’t like Musk at all, but this business of calling him a lady as an insult feels like we slipped back a few decades. It has a bad taste about it.
Can you give a citation for this strong evidence?
Probably because the point seems moot given that Trump and the Republicans intend to help Israel even more.
Pretty much everyone is. The Supreme Court basically ruled that laws don’t apply to the President.
That’ll go nicely with the voluntary pandemics.
In isolation, no one can do anything. But if people organize in large numbers and share the risk, they can be a real force of resistance.
Invading private homes with US Troops, looking for contraban (ie: illegal immigrants in this case) with mass warrants would be uncomfortable to even Republicans in these areas.
I agree that it’s worth trying. If Republicans can be persuaded that the “deep state” is becoming more intrusive it might provoke some questioning on their part. But I fear they would just retreat to “Those people must have done something to bring it upon themselves,” and “It won’t happen to me or my friends.” Until it does, when they’ll be shocked but also silenced.
Trump’s plan for Ukraine is to give Putin everything he wants, and for Gaza and the West Bank it’s to give Netanyahu everything he wants. That’s what Trump has always meant when he says he can bring peace.
If the left can organize to transform this disappointment into actual resistance, that will be worth something. Right now I think mass civil disobedience is the only thing that can really slow down the implementation of fascism, but it needs to be organized and we don’t yet see anyone stepping up to organize real resistance.
Who’s looking for a perfect system? And before you think capitalism is inevitable because “greed is human nature,” recognize that this is itself capitalist propaganda. This video addresses that point directly: Why It’s so Hard to Imagine Life After Capitalism
I think the Republicans call that “small government”.
