Also, Trump is 78 years old, in poor health, and eats a lot of McDonalds. Going by the social security administration actuarial table, a 78 year old man has a 5.3% chance of keeling over in the next year. For him, it’s probably a lot higher than that. Projecting out his next term to when he’s 82, he has about a 30% chance of dying by then going by SSA numbers.

The only question is how much they fuck up before it gets to that point. They can fuck up quite a lot. The OG Nazis burned their whole country to the ground and took most of Europe with them. But they lose in the end in some way or another.

There’s also a little tidbit that I think gets overlooked: the Arrow Lake CPUs are on a better TSMC node than AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series. You wouldn’t know it from any of the charts.

Which puts into perspective any Intel fanbois saying this is their Zen 1 moment. They’re on a better node but still doing worse. There are no signs of life here, which was not the case for Zen 1.

Also, PC gamers are loud, but they make up a pretty small portion of the market. There was a time when Intel’s server division made more revenue than all of AMD. Not if they call a voice vote. However, standard Roberts Rules says that anybody can object to the results of the voice vote and then it goes to actually recording things. Voice votes are meant to move things along when it’s obvious a vast majority are in favor, not hide who is trying to pull something.

I don’t think they’ll send it down the pipe, or be successful if they try. The process tends to have to start at the lower courts and work their way up. In all likelihood, lower courts would simply strike it down, and the appeals court wouldn’t see any reason to change that.

There are ways to skip those intermediate steps, and they could certainly try to invent a whole new process just for the case. But when one of their biggest allies on the court has a clear reason to be against it, why even try? They have a hundred other cases they’d rather do to hurt people.
