It rules!
It rules!
If you shirk responsibilities that come with power, you lose that power.
If you abuse trust put in you, you lose that trust.
America is screwing itself.
Germany electorate, please pleasantly surprise us. It’s been as dark year. Don’t vote in Nazis as well.
There is lots to fix. Including the pipe line of Linux devs into the industry.
Which sucks, because tech needs women. Badly.
Yer, it’s all tankie/troll stuff. Blocked!
If the US wants the power, it takes the responsibility. If it doesn’t take the responsibility, it will lose that power.
Russia and China would be happy to take the position vacated. If the EU got it’s act together, it could also be a contender (but it’s not looking like it will at the moment with its own Putin backed popularists).
When someone gives you that emotionless stare, it means not only is you comment not funny, it’s not really socially acceptable.
Linux users are not all male, or all straight, or single. Outside of incel groups, most groups aren’t (probably even they have members who secretly aren’t!) 😃
TLDR - if you don’t support Ukraine’s right to exist, I’m not interested in your opinion. There is no balance here. I’ve met and know too many Ukrainians.
Israel is acting in a monsterous way that doesn’t make it think of it as part of the West. The US isn’t an angel, but that doesn’t make it like Putin’s Russia. It’s false equivalent. Though, with Trump, it could degrade so much I don’t see it as part of the West anymore. If it stops being a real democracy. It could even full apart as I don’t see all the States standing for it. Putin’s, and authoritarian’s everywhere, wet dream.
Frankly if someone supports Russia over the West, or “both sides” Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, I count them as either a Russia troll farm or a tankie.
The West does bad thing, but often with some misplaced good motives. It doesn’t do things like:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisoning_of_Alexander_Litvinenko
Countries joining NATO to get protection from Russia, or the EU, to get trade deals, is not remotely the same as Russia invading Ukraine in bloody war. Or any of the murderous shit Putin has done.
There is no “both sides” here. Russia invaded Ukraine, repeatedly since 2014, salami slicing it. It interfered in elections. It killed multiple people on foreign soil, using highly dangerous, banded methods, that could easily have killed many others than the target. Putin has completely destroyed any democracy in Russia and murders his opponents.
Your probably should if your interested in digital rights. Pretty good author too.
I think a lot of people say out this election. They can’t then complain they got Trump. I don’t understand Trump Republicans, but that’s not all Republicans.
If Trump had lost, second time in a row, it could have well been the end of him. Big enough loss and it could have been end of the whole movement. Republicans could have come back to the centre. If you didn’t vote Harris, Trump is your fault. The system is completely broken, but it’s still what you have. Campaign for a better system while voting for the least bad. Enjoy your Trump.
Mmm I know what you are saying but I used to work with a lot of 3D game artists. All but a few hated Blender and said they found it counter-intuitive. But really it was that it wasn’t just like 3DS Max and Maya (and it is a bit like Max to be honest). I’m delight over a decade later it’s use has ballooned anyway.
During the same time in games, they switch all the non-2D artists to GIMP to save money. Every time I went into the animation room for something, I could hear “GIMP can’t do X or Y” and every time I could show them how it could. They didn’t want to try and were confused/cross it wasn’t PS.
Problem is it is used to clean out copyleft too. Copyleft is a social good version of copyright. Using AI to wash it away, along with authorship, is not ok. Lots of open source wouldn’t have taken over if it wasn’t for stickiness of copyleft breaking “the tragedy of the commons”.
Blender used to get a lot of stick about it’s UI, but it’s now it’s doing amazingly well. It seams to be freeing 3D from Autodesk.
GIMP seams to be going through a bit of a development phase and after GTK3 move is complete, other features will get the that development. It could be interesting few years.
As for trying RISC OS, no where is especially active to be honest. Though it can be run on Raspberry Pi. The big thing it still does best is save dialogs. Just drag into a file manager window. For the decades after leaving RISC OS I have to copy paste directory paths like a primitive! The ROX Linux desktop gives you a bit of a taste of it, but only ROX apps have the dialog magic. Last I run RISC OS was ArcEmu to play Bug Hunter 1 & 2. I did some open source work on RPCEmu to run games I made as a kid. I should run it again to show the kids what I was doing at their age!
It certainly feels like that, but “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”
