Anxiety over missing my meds keeps me (mostly) on track, I do however forget to request refills until the last bloody moment though, love how the process for ADHD treatment is so anti ADHD…

Unironically yeah, sitting on the other side of the table it’s painfully obvious when people do resume projects. I’d rather talk to you about something you’re passionate about.
I have to wonder if some of it is comfort or familiarity, I had a negative reaction to python the first time I ever tried it for example, hated the indent syntax for whatever reason.
I’m fine with bash for ci/cd activities, for what you’re talking about I’d maybe use bash to control/schedule running of a script in something like python to query and push to an api but I do totally get using the tools you have available.
I use bash a lot for automation but PowerShell is really nice for tasks like this and has been available in linux for a while. Seen it deployed into production for more or less this task, grabbing data from a sql server table and passing to SharePoint. It’s more powerful than a shell language probably needs to be, but it’s legitimately one of the nicer products MS has done.
End of the day, use the right tool for the job at hand and be aware of risks. You can totally make web requests from sql server using ole automation procedures, set up a trigger to fire on update and send data to an api from a stored proc, if I recall there’s a reason they’re disabled by default (it’s been a very long time) but you can do it.
Yeah, constantly, the easy example is keyboard input, the dual trackpad input is really nice to use. I wish they were a hair larger and round like the original steam controller becauae they were amazing on that, but even then, rotary menus are an amazing feature and the trackball mode is really nice to use. They’re a heck of a lot nicer than the joystick mouse for me.
Nicest part about the deck/controller is the flexibility, touchscreen helps add even more utility but the original controller could totally be used for keyboard/mouse heavy games on the couch, some people go wild with multiple control layers and button chords, there’s a lot of ability to customise things which is appreciated.
It’s night and day different isn’t it? That 90hz display makes a larger difference than I expected as well, my partner’s oled deck is way smoother looking on top of having nicer looking visuals (I’m a sucker for HDR). LCD is still an incredible device, especially if you get it at a discount like I did mine ($475 CAD all in is amazing value), but if you can afford an oled one, it’s totally worth it.
They have oled refurbs now, which I’d totally do having had mine apart to do a clicky button mod, it’s really easy to get into and easy to service.
Another crab’s treasure was fantastic, been loving Nine Sols as well and it might be my favourite game visually, lots of hand drawn stuff and it blends Cyberpunk with Eastern mythology (devs describe as “taopunk”)
Years of holiday retail soured me to it honestly, brings out the best in people…
Absolutely agree on that, our cats are rescues and we’d do the same for any dog.
had a Shepard/retriever mutt growing up, by far the longest lived dog I had, her brother was the longest lived of the litter (and the neighbour’s) at like 16. Have family that show for fun, only do it if the dogs enjoy it, I don’t like the way some people talk about their dogs, definitely not a fan of breeding practices in general.
Some dog breeds are trending that way, especially large breeds, anecdotally I know of a bunch of Bernese Mountain Dogs that were 4-5 years due to cancer (which isn’t uncommon), 7-8 is the normal expectancy for them afaik.
I’ve got two brothers we got as kittens, they’re 4 next year, we bond really strongly with animals.
Huh, it’s interesting that all but Ontario are predominantly Hydro on that list Ontario’s Nuclear 1st, then Hydro.
Source if anyone’s interested, can go into specific provinces.
I totally consider femshep the canonical Shepard, Mark is a solid voice actor too but Jennifer just does it so well, especially renegade imo.
My highschool blasted Christmas in Ignace - Arrogant Worms every single day during fundraising drives, they’d stop when they hit their goals. Was very effective.
Yeah, Canada did the same thing last time.
At least we have CETA this time, even if it’s only provisional ATM.
Trudeau and Freeland handled the last term better than anyone around here expected.
Definitely helped having a PM with experience working with children.
I had a Microsoft Encarta on a cd that I used for projects when I was young, Wikipedia launched midway through my grade 5 and by grade 6 I was using it for research (despite the “you can’t trust Wikipedia, anyone can edit it!” that was still a thing into grade 12 from my teachers) for any school project. My parents also had a copy of the Oxford’s Canadian English dictionary that was an absolute time, used that a heck of a lot too.
I use Wikipedia as a jumping off point, good to get information, get the details from citations. I wasn’t old enough to do complex work pretty wikipedia, but I’d imagine it’d be the same thing, encyclopaedia to lookup a topic, dive into reference materials for details from there.
I’ll throw my hat in for Harvey’s, easily one of the better veggie burgers and you get to choose toppings.
Like the guy who owns the flames N Murray Edwards who were trying to get the city to buy them a new stadium that they’ve finally got funded. I recall allegations that they were trying to use it to influence the municipal election/make it an election issue.
Not saying government shouldn’t pay for infrastructure, but the public paid for a large portion of the development, they’re not giving back shit unless it personally benefits them, financially, influence or just public image. That level of wealth is unfathomable and you do not get to that level without exploitation, there is absolutely no such thing as an ethical billionaire, that includes people benefiting from generational wealth.
You know what would be beneficial? If the wealth they’re hoarding went back into the system. Imagine if those billions just sitting there doing nothing but generating dividends actually were invested into making the world a better place. At the very least, money in the hands of the people who’s labour went into generating their (virtual) wealth.
So you’re saying solar freakin benches is the answer???!!!‽
I’ve been using powertools for this, has a lot more functionality than I use for GPU/CPU limits, but the charge rate limiting is nice to have as well.
Glad charge limiting is hitting the os though, assuming most people don’t go for 3rd party plugins
