I can be very critical of the fediverse, especially where I want it to do better, but I think stagnation isn’t the right word I think ‘maintaining’ fits more. The fediverse isn’t beholden to the grow or die model capitalist projects need and it remains a space that is unique enough to warrant people coming back here, or coming here for certain reasons or content or whatever. I think the model to hope for would be continue maintaining and being ready for when the next group of people get fed up enough to follow through and come here (fediverse in general)

You realize the circadian rhythm of humans is massively influenced by the sun right? It’s not just not using lamps, the light of the sun literally activates hormones that tell you it’s time to get up and lack of sunlight makes hormones tell you it’s time to sleep.

That would be similar to a pistol having its slide locked in the back position, in fact those are the only ways you’re supposed to leave guns when you need to put them down when you’re at the firing range. Slide in a locked position or the cylinder removed so people can see from a glance the gun cannot fire. My local range has fluorescent weed wacker twine we put down the barrels for really easy visual identification.
