watched a millionaire do a “challenge” where he tried to see if he could get out of being homeless with nothing but a cell phone and a few other small things. shockingly, he failed.

i was raised in a high pressure household and school was always always the pause. im only 23 now but im still struggling to figure out who i am since i never really got the chance to. responsibilities will always creep in, you have to be super intentional about making time for you. maybe start with a once a week class on something that interests you. as busy as you are, you can find a couple hours one day a week. prioritize movement, eating well, and sleeping enough so you have more energy, and therefore time during the day.

you wouldn’t find the police running across the state spending immense amounts of taxpayer dollars on behalf of any of the other thousands that have died of gun violence.

my parents and my grandma have each lost an animal due to unnecessary/overdone procedures… likely so the vet could make more money. most recently our family cat nearly died because they gave him a leukemia vaccine even though his breed is known to be allergic to leukemia vaccines and we brought it up. i wont even get my cats teeth done and ask about every shot they put in him because i am so paranoid

i dunno ab this bc social media is vague. corporate sites that pump out politically divisive content, misinformation, harmful content, etc. should be a bigger target? when i was a teenager, using social media platforms to connect to queer spaces was essential for me, but i was on reddit and tumblr rather than instagram or tiktok. its a tough line between protecting minors and restricting their freedom on their behalf. sucks that parents cant just step up and do what’s right, because the law can be unnecessarily suffocating. at the very least, seems like its the companies, not the kids, who’d be punished. curious to see how this plays out.

I think that at that point, though, it was way more important for her to be comfortable above all else. She was lucky to have you there.

do you exercise or walk to commute? without enough movement the body will slowly adapt to feeling tired all the time. good news is that 15 minutes of heart-rate-raising exercise will do wonders and you can find plenty of beginner videos on youtube you can do in your bedroom. it can also help alleviate brain fog and help your depression a bit too

does he like music? see if theres any old punk shows around or any records/vinyls if he likes that at all. sex pistols, dead kennedys, hell, even green day.

i was a personal trainer for a bit and honestly if you were my client id ask you to go get guidelines from a physical therapist first. swimming and light calisthenics should be fine, but listen to your body first and do not push it/make it hurt

that all that studying and academic pressure had basically zero payoff other than at least im employed

my parents had me convinced id magically save the world. made me feel like id never have to try, so i didnt. we see how that worked out lol
