I would argue the entire problem is the self-defeating mentality that the D vs R choice is the only choice. It’s in fact the population believing that - in itself - that results in the poor election outcomes for third parties.

I’m not going to read the rest of your response, because you might as well be telling me that the person with the most points isn’t the one who wins the superbowl. Between that and what little I read of your second paragraph tells me you either don’t understand the system, or you don’t understand game theory when one side is always going to vote for their guy regardless of how criminal or openly fascistic he is.

It isn’t a self defeating choice that got us here it’s literally how the system was designed. You say it wasn’t like this 30 years ago, but I question how much you remember of the bush elections, because it’s worse, but this was the natural progression with a party who is pathologically against actual governance.

You keep lying and presenting the choice as between two unequally bad options.

This is why people disregard your opinions, because you lie and pretend that they weren’t unequally bad options.

They were both bad options, but saying they’re equal tells me you don’t pay attention or are intentionally lying.

  • Sitting out was a choice as so was voting for murderers with blood on their hands.

So instead you get to keep your spotless morals while many, many more people die than would have if you made a realistic choice instead of throwing the voter equivalent of a tantrum

If you always make the good choice you will have no regrets because that is what you are supposed to do.

If you have no regrets with the way this turned out, I question the contents or existence of your morals.

I voted Kamala and have no regrets with my choice, only regrets aimed at the people who claim to be my compatriots condemning millions to suffering while being high and mighty about it.

  • Inaction is still a choice, so not voting means you’re ok with this. Voting or not voting, you still made your choice in November and here we are.

People saying and persuading others to vote for murderers with blood on their hands are much bigger spineless coward with no morals.

That’s the most bullshit argument to justify your shitty choices and is textbook DARVO. Not voting for the lesser murderer means we get an even bigger one who will actively increase the suffering, and it’s hilarious to me how you’re trying to pretend that voting to prevent more genocide is cowardly. But cowards love to pretend they’re not cowards and blame others when they don’t have the stones to make hard decisions. And lol, using morality to justify letting trump genocide people home and abroad shows you have none.

  • I want to say I’m amazed at the shit fucking takes to justify awful choices that directly lead to a fascist overthrow in response to your comment. But these types love to justify their choices even though they directly lead to an open fascist takeover of our country because BoTh SiDeS bAd because they couldn’t be bothered to engage in harm reduction and are ok with Gaza getting glassed and a probable trans genocide at home.

Fuck anyone who uses genocide to justify the situation where we now get more genocide, they never actually cared about it in the first place aside from talking points. Either that, or talk is more important than action. Either way, their opinions are meaningless to me as I help my trans homies survive.

  • Abdul expressed frustration that Trump’s focus on divisive issues, rather than economic policies, is making it harder for Black supporters to defend him.

Big “he’s not hurting the people he’s supposed to hurt” energy.

Also, really hard to feel any sympathy and respond with anything other than

Because we all fucking knew this is what he was going to do. Anyone who supported him and is surprised doesn’t necessarily need to be laughed at, but I’m not exactly going to be very sympathetic to them getting the shit we knew was coming. They’re just mad that it wasn’t chocolate ice cream they opened up for…

Yep. The 13th amendment didn’t abolish slavery like we’re taught in schools, but made it so you could be legally enslaved as a punishment for committing crimes. They then just happened to make shit like “walking around at night while black” or “being unemployed and black” crimes that they could imprison you for and make you a slave again.

  • I only see an issue with it if you are in-between getting the identification modified as the gears of beaucrarcy grind very slow

Or, you know, you live in a red state that fights tooth and nail to not update that information, all in the hopes that this day would eventually come.

Updating your vital records is a state level item, and the process will vary by state, and that’s a requirement to get it changed on your Federal passport. Please don’t forget that a large amount of states have been trying to pretend these people don’t exist, and now the federal government is trying to help make that a reality. For an example of the difficulties as reported 3 years ago:

States requiring proof of surgery, court order or altered birth certificate to change gender marker on driver’s licenses

    Georgia.
    Guam (U.S. Territory).
    Iowa.
    Kentucky.
    Louisiana.
    Northern Mariana Islands (U.S. Territory).
    South Carolina.
    Tennessee.
    Texas.

States requiring proof of surgery, court order or altered birth certificate to change gender marker on birth certificates

    Alabama.
    Arizona.
    Arkansas.
    Georgia.
    Guam (U.S. Territory).
    Iowa.
    Kentucky.
    Louisiana.
    Missouri.
    Nebraska.
    New Hampshire.
    North Carolina.
    North Dakota.
    Wisconsin.

States barring residents from amending their gender designation on official documents

    Montana.
    Oklahoma.
    Tennessee.
    West Virginia

I’ll note again that this was 3 years ago, before the massive wave of anti-trans legislation in the last couple of years.
