It’s blindingly obvious that Ukraine has full rights to do this and its allies have the right to support them in it.
And it’s actually not slightly worse but better in every way.
There’s obviously no logic whatsoever in allowing Russia to attack Ukraine freely from within its own borders while Ukraine is allowed to only defend inside its own borders. And Russia even thinks Crimea is part of Russia by some fucked up kindergarten bully logic.
No war ever in the history of mankind has followed such logic and neither does this one. If Russia threatens the use of nuclear weapons, then it is doing that without any sensible reason and it might have just as well done that without any war going on anywhere.
There’s absolutely no sensible reason to even consider doing this.
That’s the only way to learn, right?
Not disagreeing there. Some actual diplomacy would be great.
Funny personal thing is that used to have dreams (not really nightmares) that always ended with nuke mushroom clouds rising in the horizon. Those dreams stopped on February 2022.
Or I suppose they became daydreams.
I’m feeling some unease at the thought that having atomic bombs allows conquering nations without consequences.

Perhaps you’re missing the end result of applying your logic everywhere. For instance, in place of Europe, there would be Nazi Germany, still existing, and looking forward to actually being a thousand-year reich.
I don’t see any way this logic could work without the world turning into fascist hellholes.
One of the listed reasons, yes. Other reasons:
Protecting russia-speaking people of Donbass (almost identical reason Hitler gave for invading Austria and Sudetenlands in 1938)
Historical and cultural justifications, Putin claimed Ukraine is not a legitimate state (also an argument used by Hitler in 1938)
To stop “aggression of Ukraine in Luhansk and Donetsk” (Hitler accused Poland of the same in 1939)
Reclaiming rightful territory (Hitler referenced the Treaty of Versailles as reason for his wars)
Claiming that diplomacy failed and that Putin has no choice but to invade (also said by Hitler)
It’s almost as if Putin is Hitler reincarnated.
I still remember a short period of time in the first half of 2022 where even the most tankiest of people clearly felt unease from the war Russia started. The sheer evil of it broke through the propaganda they had integested, and for like 3 months they weren’t sure if they should support it or not.
But eventually they got around to supporting it somehow. The mind can explain black to be white or perhaps some of them got actual instructions how to communicate. 1968 Czechoslovakia all over again.
And the people of both states will continue to be ordered like this irregardless of which party is in power. Funny, huh?
Bridging never really works.
Rust has almost nothing to do with Mozilla these days though.
It’s because they did at least one complete rewrite, possibly two. But both of them needed to integrate with the rest of Microsoft, which practically forces them to be crap.
That is the actual reason this happens. Another one is financial people trying to cut costs or something. Slack licensing is not a small cost if you have lots of people.
However it should be said that IT and finance are supposed to support the company, not the other way around. If they’re choosing shit services they should be replaced with people who actually support the company.
Dog shit has plenty of good things going for it, frankly. It acts as a fertilizer and really its existence just means that your best bud’s internal organs are functioning properly.
Teams however
Frankly speaking Russia and China would have a great opportunity to try to appear sane for Europe when Trump gets into office. Like offer an actual peace for the price of giving a huge middle finger to USA. Trump admin seem to be begging for us to do it anyway.
I suspect that this is a pipe-dream and they will not do that, and also for Russia their credibility is pretty much gone and I don’t see any way they could restore it.
China might be able to pull it off though.
