I’m glad people love the scent of wood. Working with green oak blew me away. It smells sweet! It kind of smells like vanilla and cinnamon. Theres actually a guy who made oak flavored ice cream by toasting oak scraps and soaking them in the cream he intended to use.

Especially cause chairs are fucking hard (for the good ones). Lots of specialtly equipment to make it. A steam box, a kiln, bending jigs, all sorts of cushioning, fabric, springs, twine, burlap, its mind-blowing. I saw a master upholsterer give a demonstration and the depth of the craft of just constructing the cushion is jaw dropping.

Any women here who can give insight on why woodworking is attractive? I thought my hands would be too grimy with sharpening grit, everything covered in chips and shavings and my hands covered in scars for it to be considered attractive.

Also do you find power tools or hand tools more attractive?

Knife sharpening. Not hard to learn how to do it decently, and hard to find someone who can do it decently. The equipment is not too expensive either. 40$ for a good coarse stone (you will need one!!!) And 40$ for a decent combo stone of medium and fine. You probably want a good flattening stone too.

DONT use amazon, all of the stones there are scams. A good coarse stone is a Naniwa lobster 220. A good combo stone is the KING KDS 1000/6000.

I would only recommend short games. Ive been gaming my whole life and basically quit recently, because I was playing grindy games that were so exhausting mentally.

Even great games like Terraria, Minecraft and dont starve leave me exhausted. Such huge time sinks. Ive moved onto hobbies that are much more satisfying.

Probably havent player it in ten years but Kirby super star ultra. There is just SO MUCH content. I swear there are like a dozen minigamss and multiple “main games”. All on the DS, it’s crazy.

Other than that, megaman zero. Great music, tight controls and great story. Its fucking hard of course but super fun.

Glad to hear that workers like me have an exception. Always feel a little insecure about my dirty nails (I’m a woodworker and the grit from sharpening gets onln my nails and hands).

Also hate super strong perfume. Sometimes there are old ladies, who I assume have little sense of smell left, utterly dowsing themselves in perfume. As soon as they open the door the smell hits you like a brick. Honestly I dont know if I hate the smell of BO or chemically perfume more. One grosses me out and the other makes me winse. Sometimes its so strong my sinuses and nostrils burn.

This infuriates me to no end. I dont understand how these people live. Every few seconds is another notification. If its a Snapchat notification its even worse and I dont know why.
