Posting this just 4 days after the last weekly thread, to get it back to Fridays. Next one should be exactly 1 week after this, on next Friday, 24th May.

About the games, I only played a little bit of Picross S4, I have about 25 Picross and same amount of Mega Picross remaining, plus Colour Picross and 5 Extra Picross. I do most of my games over the weekend these days, so that’s pretty much my normal week.

What about all of you? What have you been playing lately, and what do you plan to play this weekend?

The Last Spark Hunter DLC has finally managed to throw a wrench into the team setup I used for 98% of the main game. Luckily, it was just a miniboss, but I have a feeling I’ll see him again.

I finished off Azrael in Arkham Knight and finally understood that my least favorite Predator map is actually kind of broken in the player’s favor. I was always so intimidated by how big and full of enemies it is, but they really don’t like leaving their assigned floor. Now I treat it as four seperate maps stacked on top of each other and it’s so much easier! Next up, I’ll have to replay Batgirl’s extra story for some achievements that were hidden for some reason and then take her through these challenges. She’s not actually the next character in the list, but I’m saving that one character for last. I just have a feeling she will be the most difficult one to use…

I picked up my Infinite Fusion Nuzlocke again. I had to fill up some empty spaces that the Elite 4 so rudely blasted into my team, but I’m off to conquer Johto next!

I’m currently playing that game! Just started world 5 and with only a few exceptions, I’m running Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Rosalina und Rabbid Mario. Sometimes a map calls for Luigi, but that’s it. Same as your team?

I played the main game almost exclusively with Mario, Luigi and Rabbid Peach. The Bros’ reaction abilities, when fully upgraded, are insane. Being all alone without enemies on a Survival Map levels of insane.

Well, that’s a good thing, I like it when I get to use different party members, but only if they were leveling up with me. If they weren’t, then that’s just annoying.

Now you have made me curious which one is it, that you are saving for last. If I am not mistaken, you have already done Bat girl and Cat woman. So that covers all the “good” female characters, that leaves Harley Quinn or maybe Poison Ivy, but that’s just the characters I can think of on top of my head, could be some obscure character like Azrael too…

      Good luck with Johto!

Backpack Battles is fun but it can get boring real quick.

Potion Craft before that was super fun and actually kept me on the edge for quite a while.

There’s a lot of cool indie games and I’m currently digging through a good chunk of the Rogue lites ^^

I love indies, would love to hear about the games you play, and how you liked them.

Never heard of Backpack Battles (at least not that I recall), but Potion Craft is in my wish list.

I really should go back and try picking up where I left off in Unicorn Overlord weeks ago, but for some reason I’ve found shiny hunting in Pokemon Violet more entertaining. I’m rather surprised at how Unicorn Overlord felt so bland and disappointing. I think I was expecting one type of game and got something quite different in a way that just couldn’t hold my interest. Maybe I just got burned out on high fantasy JRPG games and need to play something different yet still fun for me for a while.

There’s nothing wrong with dropping a game you don’t feel like playing. You can always get back to it later if you feel like it, or just drop it permanently.

Play what you feel like, and have fun!

I’ve been playing Endless Ocean Luminous. It’s super chill and interesting, I’ve been listening to/reading the descriptions for some of the animals I’ve been scanning and hopefully learning some ocean trivia. It’s fun to do the shared or solo dives, but the story mode really drags. I’ll try to finish it eventually, but it’s not the most fun.

I will be getting into other games this weekend. I finally ordered Gravity Circuit on physical format, which will hopefully arrive early tomorrow. And I think I will get back to Tears of the Kingdom…

Yeah, I wasn’t interested in the game much, but then I saw SwitchUp’s review and got a bit interested, but then when explained the story mode, lost the interest again.

Have fun with Gravity Circuit and TotK!

Last weekend I just needed something simple for a while, so I finally started an Animal Crossing island on my switch lite. My wife and I have put a bunch of time into crafting an island on our original switch, so it’s been fun to start so over. I forgot just how slow moving the game is, though. 😛 My plan for the island is to keep it standard fantasy themed - my house will be a wizard tower on a hill, amidst a dense forest. There will also be a “secret” fruit forest that you have to quest for. All the houses and buildings will be located in a single, village-like area with some farms

Well, that’s how it goes when you have multiple platforms to play games on. My PS5 didn’t get much use this year, before I started Kingdom Come Deliverance, similarly, there was a time I didn’t play much Switch last year. And that’s with just two platforms.

Is there anything coming up on Switch that has caught your interest? Or any backlog to go through? Or you are mostly done with it, at least until the June Direct?

From the exclusives, only paper mario is announced i guess. So at the moment no. Let’s wait for the June direct. I anyways start to play my backlog and it will be a few trails of games that i haven’t bought on switch. Update: probably i buy the hyperdimension neptunia collection for the switch

I am super into Story of Season.

Wew, office job wear me down. I need refresh.

I would pick a farm life over office job on city if I can make a bunch of gold like i did in Story of Season.

    • A crop would only took few day, and it took you like, a month, to be able to renovate, expand your house.
    • Live rent free
    • Food cost almost nothing. Really, the breakfast is free, and you only need 1 meal to survive. You can survive without cost.

Haha, yeah, if real life could be like video games, Story of Seasons isn’t a bad game to choose. Same with most other cozy / farming games.

    Finished Little Kitty, Big City!

This was a fun little game. It takes a bit of inspiration of Untitled Goose Game as you play another small animal messing around in a city.

However, this one has a lot more focus on exploration and less on trolling humans. There’s a lot of places to climb/crawl, plenty of shiny things and hats to collect, plus some animals with funny dialogue to talk around in the city.

It definitely could use some polish - camera, controls and graphics all feel a bit janky, but it’s not too detrimental to the experience.

Playing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice, part of the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy!

Slow progress this week, but I did finish the second case which was the good old “someone from the Wright agency gets accused of murder” case we get every game.

And now it looks like we’re going back to Phoenix’s misadventures in Khura’in. I wonder if Maya will manage to get in trouble again this game?

    Playing Drainus!

A shoot 'em up from Team Ladybug, the same developer as the the Lodoss War and Touhou metroidvanias I played recently.

I feel this one is inspired by the Gradius games, with you being able to configure your loadout with different options for attack, options, missiles and shields, and also the ability to choose the order you unlock these.

However, there’s some interesting twists to that formula. Upgrades are unlocked as you play, and you can adjust your loadout mid-game. When you get hit you lose one upgrade level, and you only die if you get hit while at zero upgrades. There’s a “reflect shield” mechanic that lest you absorb energy attacks and send them back to the enemies.

There’s also a storyline of sorts, but I can’t comment much on that as I’m still fairly early in the game.

How long did it take you to beat Little Kitty, Big City? It looks really fun.

How are you liking Drainus compared to Lodoss War and Touhou? I know they are different genres, but still.

Didn’t track it but less than 5h. Really short game.

Liking it less than the metroidvanias, but as you said it’s a very different genre so it’s hard to compare. Still a great game, I even recommended it to a Gradius-loving friend of mine.
