Summary

Over two dozen states have indicated their willingness to send National Guard troops to Washington for the presidential election and inauguration, following the violence of the 2021 Capitol riot.

While D.C. has not formally requested assistance, officials are preparing for potential unrest, reminiscent of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, when 25,000 Guard troops secured the area.

Some states have activated Guard members for cybersecurity support, with others on standby.

Heightened security concerns are fueled by Trump’s unproven claims of election fraud. Guard support for inaugurations is traditional but may be elevated due to current tensions.

Even calling Trump’s election fraud claims “unproven” is lending them far too much weight. “Unsupported” is probably the most charitable way to describe them.

Entertaining the alternative reality of a deeply mentally ill man is typically not a good idea. And yet our press keeps doing it. There are better words to convey this headline.

Think we could borrow some of those Jewish space lasers? It’s the least they could do for all of the billions of dollars worth of bombs we’ve sent.

Speaking of events I have 0 interest in attending regardless of who wins…

The odds of there being 0 violence is… 0.
