      Yes, but also what OP posted. When the women and minorities “knew their place” and the queer folks just didn’t exist in public.

        You’re right some people do think that way, and others are convinced to do so because they think their worsening economic situation is because of someone else’s better social situation, when in reality it’s greed and oligarchic socio-political rule which ruins it for everyone across the board.

      Probably mostly for middle class white people. A pretty significant chunk of the population I think struggled to enjoy those benefits.

        I don’t think about that because all of the culturally-produced content I have access to paints a steady picture of property and compliance. This is my mental model and my friends and I aren’t in the mood for a new story right now. ^^^/$
