After the US election my good friend in Germany was like ‘thankful I live in a stable country’ and that very day their gov’t collapsed.

Germany was ruled by a coalition of three parties: The Social Democrats (SPD), the Greens (Die Grünen) and the Free Democrats (FDP wich are Neoliberals). Almost from Day 1 the FDP did their best to torpedo everything they could until our chancellor Olaf Scholz finally grew a spine and fired the Minister of finance and head of the FDP, Christian Lindner. This led to almost all other FDP-ministers resigning from their posts and thus the collapse of the coalition. Only the Minister of Transportation, Volker Wissing did not resign but left the FDP.

The good thing is, that the populist right-wing party AfD always called for the current government to shutdown and do a snap election and now, that it has „finally“ happened they seem to be struggling with this as they were caught completely unprepared. Many of their assemblies are timed to late to set up all the lists and other bureaucratic things and they need to reorganize quickly.

More like America stopped on the freeway and shoved it in reverse.

Other countries are slamming on the brakes because America is coming at them fast and it’s actions could easily be dangerous.

I feel more like we’re the giant SUV doing 100 and swerving wildly at this point. Other countries should be actively concerned and trying to avoid us.

We pulled over the old guy going 45 in the fast lane and replaced him with a drunk old guy doing 80 in a residential but hes too rich for the cops to bother pulling him over.

Canada is out here avoiding the giant SUV pretty well so far but the passengers in our car are getting sick of our driver. For some unknown reason they instead want to hand the wheel to the other guy who’s been slamming pints for the whole trip.

Shaking their head saying “what a shame, was such a beautiful… Well it was an incredible… Well it was big.”
