I doubt that it can be any worse than tech companies with financial incentives doing it. Surrounding yourself with like minded people will surely cause some bubbles like that but since when is letting a targeted algorithm funneling us for ad revenue a better option? I don’t personally think it’s a big deal and guessing that people are just upset that their obsession with mass engagement is getting shook.

I’m reserving judgement of course to see how things actually play out but I do want to throw a cheapest pc together for my nephew and that card would make a fine centerpiece.

Oh yeah I get that people love it and I think that’s great. It just hasn’t clicked for me even though I would like it to. I’ve got a nephew that stays with me and I’ve been trying pull him away from games like COD to get him to branch out and chill out when it comes to a hobby that I feel should be for fun. NMS seems like a great game for us to goof around in with low stakes and plenty of projects but again, it just hasn’t become fun for me.

I keep trying to get into it but it hasn’t clicked. I love the idea of free roaming in space but I find the gathering/farming aspects boring. I need to some how smash that game with Everspace 2, I feel like a game in between those could be a lot of fun.

An absolute delight. That’s the very game that got me into RPGs. Until I copped Harmony on PSP my brain focused on nothing but Halo and COD.

Oh I’m not saying that it’s hard for us here. Most people don’t know that Mac and Windows are different if they aren’t in a tech position let alone know that Linux exists at all. I’m talking about the general person on the street, it’s hard to remember that we don’t always fit into that group.

Heck yeah. I usually have to explain what an OS is in the first place too. I usually use android versus iOS as an example. I feel kinda fortunate sometimes that my wife’s hobbies don’t line up with my own most of the time because it does keep my brain in check from falling into those bubbles. She appreciates having free tech support on hand of course lol

Beginner friendly??? Not sure how to explain this to Linux users that post on Lemmy but we’re not the regular pc user and have a very different view on beginner friendly lol

I straight up did not like the first controller. Tried to push my cousin into taking it and he snuck it back in my car because he didn’t want it 😆 That being said, I grabbed a steam deck a while ago and that thing rules. I’d be very excited to check out a V2 controller with everything they’ve learned.

Why do so many people think they MUST be heard? 😆 That’s one of the reasons I deleted Reddit. Too many weirdos thinking that I owed them a debate or something whenever I commented something they disagreed with. It happened on Twitter too but I got rid of that when musk announced that he was going through with the purchase.
