    He is onto something.

Sasha can bring a chaotic Joker to the screen in a way that could be the best version imaginable.

Honestly - the joker is more the stark raving lunatic rather than the cold blooded psychopath. He’s more liable to strap you into a rollercoaster, set it off, and have a cream pie (not that one) waiting for you at the end of it - the impact of which kills you - rather than blowing up boat full of people.

SBC Joker: “Real freedom is fascism, and becoming Nazis is the only way to stop the Jewish shapeshifters who raised the price of groceries!”

Hundreds of millions of people all over the world: “That makes perfect sense. I am your devoted follower now.”

Here’s a box of explosives and pyrotechnics, the weapons props are in that truck, and this credit card has 10 million dollars for expenses. Do your stuff, the writers will write the script for the other characters on the spot.

Why hasn’t Nick Cage been cast as The Joker? He’s pretty much perfect for the role. Or Jim Carey? Carey likes to do serious stuff now. I know he was the Riddler, but he would be better as The Joker.

Because Nick is still holding out for Superman. Also, I don’t think he has that certain kind of hyperactivity needed, at least not anymore. His kind of broken mind acting is more Lovecraftian protagonist (who, granted, also might end up in Arkham Asylum).

The Death of “Superman Lives”: What Happened? makes me feel that we had him already as Superman. The documentary is maybe even better, than if we would have really got the movie.

I also think it would be a little too late now. He was in the perfect age range back then.

But i’m sure we haven’t seen Nicolas’ final form yet.

The problem is there’s a lot of Jim Carey in his Riddler, and I’m trying to think how else he would play the Joker that wouldn’t just be his Riddler persona with different catch phrases.

      Art should be.
Much like infrastructure (or - art is public infrastructure, it’s integrated into the culture just as much if not more).

Instead we let giant megacorps carry on their enshitification & blandification via averagificated (now AI) art that costs too much (selling prices are too high, but production costs & profits too).

I think he’s struggled with new compelling characters tbh. Only one of his good films isn’t a character from the Ali G show. But give him enough time… I certainly wouldn’t write him off entirely. We’ll see.
